General Summary & Scope

The Master Stylist engages with guests, consults on hair care needs, and recommends products and services. They deliver quality services focusing on the guest’s total look, supporting the Experience Manager and Assistant Services Manager through performance, guest service, and adherence to operational procedures. A passion for beauty, exceptional service, and product knowledge are essential.

Principal Duties & Responsibilities

• Perform hair services (cut, color, treatments, styling, updos, perms, blowouts, keratin, extensions, makeup, ear piercing where applicable).
• Achieve or surpass weekly sales and productivity goals, contribute to retail and service sales, guest loyalty, and minimize retail shrinkage.
• Demonstrate products to enhance sales and guest experience.
• Support in-store events, promotions, and marketing initiatives.
• Stay informed on industry trends, products, and services, understanding their ingredients and benefits.
• Maintain consistent attendance.

People

• Build guest relationships through consultations and tailored recommendations.
• Serve all guests efficiently, including walk-ins.
• Collaborate with skin therapists and retail teams for a comprehensive guest experience.
• Foster professional relationships with peers and brand partners.
• Promote the guest loyalty program and Ulta Beauty app.
• Attend mandatory training and meetings for ongoing professional development.

Process

• Ensure compliance with company policies, safety, sanitation, and infection control standards.
• Follow service protocols to deliver consistent, exceptional guest experiences.
• Use booking and client management systems effectively.
• Communicate supply needs to the Experience Manager.
• Maintain store cleanliness and adhere to dress code.
• Follow loss prevention practices and execute operational tasks as assigned.
