General Summary & Scope

The Master Stylist engages with guests, consulting on hair care needs, and recommending products and services. They deliver quality services focusing on the guest’s total look, supporting the Experience Manager (SM) and Assistant Services Manager (ASM) through performance, people, and process. Passion for the industry, exceptional guest service, and product knowledge are essential.

Principal Duties & Responsibilities

Performance

• Perform hair services including design, cuts, color, treatments, styling, updos, perms, blowouts, keratin treatments, extensions, makeup, and ear piercing (where applicable).
• Meet or exceed weekly sales and productivity goals, contributing to store sales, guest loyalty, and retail shrink reduction.
• Conduct product demonstrations to drive sales and enhance guest experience.
• Support in-store events, promotions, and marketing initiatives.
• Stay informed on industry trends, products, and services, and communicate their benefits to guests.
• Maintain prompt and regular attendance.

People

• Develop relationships through consultations and recommendations.
• Serve all guests efficiently, including walk-ins.
• Collaborate with skin therapists and retail teams for a comprehensive guest experience.
• Build professional relationships with peers and brand partners.
• Promote the guest loyalty program and Ulta Beauty app.
• Attend mandatory training and meetings for professional development.

Process

• Ensure compliance with company policies, safety, sanitation, and infection control procedures.
• Follow service protocols for consistent guest experience.
• Use booking systems for appointments and events.
• Communicate supply needs to the Experience Manager.
• Maintain store cleanliness and adhere to dress code.
• Protect company assets and execute operational tasks as directed.
