GENERAL SUMMARY & SCOPE

The Master Stylist engages with guests, consulting on their hair care needs and recommending products and services. They deliver quality professional services focused on the guest's overall look, supporting the Experience Manager and Assistant Services Manager through performance, people, and process excellence. A passion for the beauty industry, exceptional guest service, and product knowledge are essential.

PRINCIPAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

The Master Stylist champions Ulta Beauty’s mission, vision, and values, demonstrating them through:

Performance

• Performing a variety of hair services, including design, cuts, color, treatments, styling, updos, perms, blowouts, keratin treatments, extensions, makeup, and ear piercing (where applicable).
• Achieving or exceeding a weekly sales goal of $1250 and contributing to store sales, guest loyalty, and retail shrink targets.
• Conducting product demonstrations to enhance guest experience and sales.
• Supporting in-store events and marketing initiatives.
• Staying informed on industry trends, products, and services to better serve guests.
• Maintaining prompt and regular attendance.

People

• Developing guest relationships through consultations and tailored recommendations.
• Serving all guests efficiently, including walk-ins.
• Collaborating with skin therapists and retail teams for a comprehensive guest experience.
• Building professional relationships with peers and brand partners.
• Promoting the guest loyalty program and app benefits.
• Attending mandatory training and meetings for ongoing professional development.

Process

• Ensuring compliance with company policies, procedures, and safety standards.
• Following sanitation, infection control, and safety procedures.
• Adhering to established service protocols for consistency.
• Using booking systems to manage appointments and client records.
• Communicating supply needs to the Experience Manager.
• Maintaining cleanliness and operational standards in the salon and store.
• Following dress code and loss prevention practices.
• Executing additional operational tasks as assigned.

JOB QUALIFICATIONS

Education: Cosmetology license required.

Experience: Relevant work experience required.

• Proficiency in the latest salon techniques across all service categories.
