Job summary

Kodiak Labor Solutions in Richmond, VA seeks a Master Scheduler / Production Planner to own the MPSS for active fabrication work orders, balancing customer demand with labor capacity and material availability. This role collaborates across Shop Operations, Project Management, Procurement, Engineering, VDC, Inventory Planning, and Field Operations to keep projects on schedule.

The ideal candidate has 3+ years in production planning or scheduling, strong Excel skills, and proven ability to adjust

Qualifications

• 3+ years of experience in production planning, master scheduling, or related roles.
• Strong understanding of manufacturing or industrial production workflows.
• Advanced Microsoft Excel skills including Pivot Tables, Capacity Modeling, Labor Planning, Dashboards, Scenario Analysis, and Forecasting.
• Excellent organizational, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to make scheduling decisions with incomplete or changing information.
• Strong communication skills across departments.

Responsibilities

• Own and manage the Manufacturing Production Scheduling System (MPSS) for active fabrication work orders and projects.
• Develop production schedules aligning customer demand with labor capacity and manufacturing constraints.
• Prioritize fabrication work based on customer commitments, milestones, material availability, and field installation schedules.
• Adjust production schedules to accommodate revisions, material shortages, and changing priorities.
• Develop labor and capacity planning models to identify bottlenecks and risks.
• Propose solutions including resequencing work, overtime, or subcontracting.
• Serve as the primary source of truth for schedules and capacity.
• Coordinate with multiple departments including Operations, Procurement, Engineering, VDC, and Field Teams.
• Participate in planning meetings and look-ahead reviews.
• Ensure sequencing supports installation schedules and milestones.
• Develop advanced Excel tools and dashboards for planning.
