The Master Scheduler is responsible for planning, staffing, and scheduling personnel resources according to applicable policies, standards, and contract requirements. They ensure adequate coverage of all security posts and essential positions and are also responsible for monitoring all workforce management processes at the local facility level. Additionally, they will manage schedule/shift adjustments to optimize schedule adherence and provide overall staffing efficiencies.

  1. Implement and maintain the approved workforce management platform at the local facility level, including developing shift rosters, scheduling training, and coordinating leave requests to ensure adequate coverage.
  2. Work with facility management to revise shift cards to provide a fair balance of staff levels and experience across shifts. Create schedules using fair practices to ensure safe and secure operations, contract compliance, schedule adherence, and financial goals. Make adjustments as needed.
  3. Participate in the Incident Command System, working directly with facility management to provide updated staffing and schedule information. Develop partnerships with HR, Payroll, and Training departments to communicate and document schedule-related issues.
  4. Serve as the primary contact for overtime tracking and input key overtime reasons into Kronos.
  5. Conduct weekly meetings with facility management to discuss schedule-related issues.
  6. Ensure each employee receives required training and verify all training requirements are satisfied prior to scheduling.
  7. Domestic US travel may be required.
Qualifications:
  1. High school diploma, GED, or equivalent required.
  2. Associate's degree preferred.
  3. One year of experience with shift scheduling required.
  4. Additional education in office administration or related fields may substitute for experience.
  5. Two years of correctional industry experience preferred.
  6. Proficiency in Microsoft Office, especially Excel, required.
  7. Experience with Kronos or similar systems preferred.
  8. Strong analytical, communication, and interpersonal skills required.
  9. Knowledge of workforce management best practices preferred.
  10. Valid driver's license required.
  11. Minimum age: 18 years.
