TekPro is seeking an experienced Master Scheduler for its San Jose, CA precision machining operations. The role focuses on moving from reactive scheduling to a disciplined, data-driven process aligned with machine capacity and routings.

You will own the master production schedule, incorporate outside processing timelines, and collaborate cross-functionally to improve lead times and on-time delivery. Prior CNC contract manufacturing experience is essential.

Qualifications

• Master Scheduling or Production Planning experience within CNC contract manufacturing or precision machining.
• Strong understanding of high-mix, low-volume manufacturing environments.
• Knowledge of CNC machining processes, machine capabilities, production routings, setup requirements, and cycle times.
• Experience with finite-capacity scheduling and complex production priorities.
• Understanding of outside processing and its impact on manufacturing lead times.
• ERP/MRP experience and strong analytical skills.
• Demonstrated ability to improve scheduling processes and bring structure to reactive manufacturing environments.

Responsabilités

• Own and improve the master production schedule across CNC machining operations.
• Develop realistic schedules based on machine capacity, job durations, setup times, cycle times, and manufacturing routings.
• Establish better planning methods and historical data to improve lead-time and job-duration accuracy.
• Implement finite-capacity scheduling practices and identify machine constraints and production bottlenecks.
• Account for outside processing requirements, subcontractor lead times, and material availability.
• Monitor work-in-progress, production progress, and schedule adherence.
• Work closely with production, purchasing, engineering, and operations to resolve scheduling conflicts and delivery risks.
• Improve planning accuracy, production visibility, and on-time delivery performance.

TekPro is partnered with a precision manufacturing organization in San Jose, CA, to identify an experienced Master Scheduler with a strong background in CNC contract machining.

This is a key opportunity for someone who understands high-mix, low-volume manufacturing and can bring greater structure, visibility, and predictability to a production scheduling operation.

The current scheduling process is largely reactive, with limited historical data on actual job durations, manufacturing lead times, and machine capacity. The organization needs someone who can develop a more disciplined scheduling process based on realistic production capabilities, job requirements, and outside processing timelines.
