Job summary

Unigen is seeking a Master Scheduler for the Newark site to translate customer demand into an executable build plan, balancing capacity and material supply to meet delivery commitments. The Master Scheduler owns the MPS, coordinating with Sales/Demand Planning and Production, and reports to the Planning Manager.

This onsite role requires strong MRP/ERP knowledge (SAP, Oracle, Kinaxis, NetSuite) and a data‑driven approach to optimize resources.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain, Operations, Business, Engineering, or equivalent experience.
  • 3–7 years in production/master scheduling or demand planning, ideally in a Contract Manufacturing, EMS, or high‑mix/low‑volume manufacturing environment.
  • Working knowledge of MRP/ERP systems and capacity planning tools (SAP, Oracle, Kinaxis RapidResponse, NetSuite, JDE, etc.).
  • Strong understanding of MPS, MRP, RCCP/CRP, BOM structures, and demand‑supply balancing.
  • Advanced Excel; experience with planning/APS software a plus.
  • APICS/ASCM certification (CPIM, CSCP) preferred.
  • Cross‑functional coordination (Sales, Materials, Production, Quality)
  • Analytical/data‑driven decision making under constraint (capacity vs. material vs. demand trade‑offs)
  • Clear communication of schedule risk to leadership and customers
  • Comfort with ambiguity and fast‑changing priorities typical of CM/contract environments

Responsibilities

  • Master Schedule Ownership: Build, publish, and maintain the MPS across the planning horizon (typically rolling 4–13 weeks, with a longer-range rough-cut view), sequencing customer orders into production line schedules.
  • Capacity Planning: Run Rough Cut Capacity Planning (RCCP) and/or detailed capacity checks against labor, machine, and line availability; identify bottlenecks and recommend load-leveling, overtime, or line-balancing actions.
  • Demand Load Management: Reconcile customer forecasts/orders (demand signal) against the schedule; flag over/under-loaded periods and drive trade-off decisions with Sales/Program Management.
  • Exception Management: Monitor schedule adherence, run daily/weekly exception reports (late materials, capacity conflicts, order changes), and drive resolution through cross-functional huddles.
  • S&OP/SIOP Support: Provide MPS‑level input into Sales & Operations Planning cycles; reconcile master schedule with the aggregate demand/supply plan.
  • System Ownership: Maintain planning parameters (lead times, lot sizes, safety stock, calendars) in the ERP/APS system (e.g., SAP, Oracle, Kinaxis, NetSuite) to keep the MPS logic accurate.
  • Customer/Program Interface: Communicate committed ship dates, capacity constraints, and schedule risks to planners/program managers as needed in a CM/EMS setting.

  • System Ownership: Maintain planning parameters (lead times, lot sizes, safety stock, calendars) in the ERP/APS system (e.g., SAP, Oracle, Kinaxis, NetSuite) to keep the MPS logic accurate.
  • Customer/Program Interface: Communicate committed ship dates, capacity constraints, and schedule risks to planners/program managers as needed in a CM/EMS setting.
