Job summary

IMI seeks a Master Scheduler in Lake Forest, CA to develop and manage shop schedules in collaboration with production planners and the production manager, ensuring on-time delivery to customer promises. You will own the execution plan, monitor progress, and drive corrective actions to maintain flow, capacity, and readiness.

In this role you will regularly coordinate with Procurement, Manufacturing Engineering, Quality Engineering, and Design teams to resolve bottlenecks and keep schedules

Qualifications

  • 3-5 years of experience in master scheduling or production planning.
  • Thorough knowledge of MRP, inventory management and project planning.
  • Proficient in ERP systems such as IFS or similar.
  • Strong project management and organizational skills.
  • Solid analytical skills and MS Excel proficiency.
  • Familiar with Job Shop manufacturing environment.
  • Good communication and analytical skills are required.

Responsibilities

  • Develop a Shop Schedule in coordination with the production planners and production manager.
  • Set daily and weekly priorities for the Job Shop based on customer needs and company goals.
  • Assess impact of material shortages, engineering changes, and non-conforming materials and develop recovery and contingency plans.
  • Work with planners to create schedules identifying key milestones and ensure timely execution.
  • Develops and maintains capacity plans and solves bottlenecks in production.
  • Highlight slippage or issues and escalate to department heads.
  • Review orders with Procurement, Manufacturing Engineering, Quality Engineering, Production Control and Design Engineering.
  • Bi-weekly review of new orders to start execution promptly.
  • Update Load and Capacity Models monthly.
  • Facilitate monthly Sales and Operations Meetings and generate presentations.
  • Establish quarterly manufacturing hours based on bookings profile.
  • Track on-time performance of manufactured parts monthly.

Role Overview

The Master Scheduler is responsible for developing order execution plans for each workcenter in the plant. They will be required to monitor progress against these plans and initiate proactive corrective action to ensure on-time delivery to the customer promise dates. This job is autonomous, and the individual must accept total ownership of performance against the customer need dates and ensure compliance at all levels of the execution plan.

On-site in Lake Forest, CA Monday - Friday

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop a Shop Schedule in coordination with the production planners and production manager
  • Sets daily and weekly priorities for the Job Shop based on customer needs and company goals.
  • Assess impact of material shortages, engineering changes, and non-conforming materials and develops recovery and contingency plans to minimize schedule impact.
  • Works with the planners and creates schedules to identify “key milestones” and ensures the timely execution of project.
  • Develops and maintains capacity plans while identifying and solve bottlenecks in production.
  • Highlight slippage, anomalies or issues and elevates issues to department heads.
  • Proactively review if orders can be pulled in by working closely with Procurement, Manufacturing Engineering, Quality Engineering, Production Control and/or Design Engineering.
  • Bi-weekly review of new orders ensuring order execution can start immediately
  • Responsible for updating Load and Capacity Models monthly
  • Responsible for facilitating a monthly Sales and Operations Meeting as well as generating the presentation
  • Responsible for establishing quarterly manufacturing hours for the shop based on Sales’ bookings profile
  • Monthly responsibility for tracking on-time performance of manufactured parts

Qualifications and Required Skills
  • 3-5 years of experience preferred
    Thorough knowledge of MRP, inventory management and project planning
    Proficient in using ERP systems such as IFS or similar systems
    Strong project management and organization skills.
    Solid analytical skills, including the ability to use Microsoft Excel
    Highly motivated and ability to work independently.
    Familiar with Job Shop Manufacturing environment
    Good communication and analytical skills are required

Within this range, individual pay is determined based on skills, experience, and qualifications relative to the job requirements. Base pay information is aligned with market location and may be subject to prevailing wage laws, if applicable.
