Job description

At IEM, we’re not just building innovative electrical distribution systems, we’re shaping the future. IEM is dedicated to delivering world‑class solutions for complex power needs. After 75 years, we continue to push the boundaries of what’s possible. Whether you’re an experienced professional or just starting out, you’ll have the opportunity to contribute, grow, and make a lasting impact on industries that power the world’s most dynamic markets.

We are seeking an experienced and detail‑oriented Master Scheduler to join our Jacksonville production planning team. This key role will ensure the production schedules are level‑loaded, resources are optimally allocated, and capacity constraints are managed effectively. The Master Scheduler will play a vital role in maintaining efficient operations and will serve as a primary liaison for reporting capacity levels to upper management, providing insights that drive informed decision‑making. The candidate will also be expected to perform additional duties as assigned to support the team and organization.

Please note: This position requires 100% in‑office presence in our Jacksonville location and does not offer remote work.

Key Responsibilities
Production Scheduling and Planning
  • Develop and maintain a master production schedule to ensure balanced workloads and optimal resource utilization.
  • Collaborate with production planners, team leads, supply chain, and engineering personnel to align production schedules with demand forecasts and inventory goals.
  • Identify and resolve scheduling conflicts or bottlenecks to maintain a smooth workflow.
Capacity Management
  • Monitor and analyze the plant's capacity levels, identifying potential risks or inefficiencies.
  • Provide actionable recommendations to address capacity constraints and improve throughput.
  • Partner with operational teams to ensure resources (labor, equipment, materials) are aligned with production requirements.
Reporting and Communication
  • Create and present detailed reports to upper management on plant capacity, production performance, and resource utilization.
  • Develop and monitor dashboards and metrics to track key performance indicators (KPIs) related to scheduling and capacity planning.
  • Serve as a communication bridge between production teams and leadership, ensuring alignment on priorities and goals.
Continuous Improvement
  • Implement and refine scheduling processes to enhance accuracy and efficiency.
  • Identify and recommend process improvements to support manufacturing and operational excellence.
  • Stay updated on industry best practices and integrate them into scheduling and planning workflows.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Industrial Engineering, Business Administration, or a related field or equivalent work experience.
  • APICS/ASCM CPIM certification preferred.
  • 3‑10 years of experience in master scheduling, production scheduling, capacity planning, or a similar role within a manufacturing environment.
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret data and drive decisions.
  • Proficiency in ERP/MRP systems (Infor Syteline preferred) and advanced Excel skills.
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills, with experience reporting to senior leadership.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage multiple priorities and work under tight deadlines.
  • Experience with lean manufacturing principles and continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Familiarity with the specific needs of production in a make‑to‑order manufacturing environment.
  • Demonstrated career ambition with a track record of growth and increasing responsibility; highly promotable with potential to take on broader leadership roles within a fast‑paced, high‑growth organization.

Compensation for this role will take into account internal equity and may vary depending on the candidate's geographic region, job‑related knowledge, skills, and experience. A bonus and/or long‑term incentive units may be provided as part of the compensation package, in addition to the full range of medical, financial, and other benefits, depending on the level and position offered.
