  • Associate degree in Business required; Bachelor’s degree in Business preferred.
  • 3–5 years of experience as a Production Coordinator or in a related manufacturing role (custom manufacturing experience is a plus).
  • APICS certification preferred.
  • Advanced ERP and Excel skills; proficient in interpreting Bills of Materials (BOMs) and routings.
  • Advanced Excel and Microsoft Office skills

Responsibilities

  • Develop daily and weekly production schedules for a high-mix manufacturing environment with frequent schedule changes.
  • Prioritize production based on customer promise dates, revenue impact, engineering readiness, material availability, and manufacturing constraints.
  • Continuously rebalance schedules as customer demand, engineering changes, supplier deliveries, and production issues evolve.
  • Optimize production flow while minimizing work center congestion and excessive work-in-process.
  • Coordinate closely with Engineering to ensure released drawings, bills of materials, routings, and manufacturing documentation are complete before production release.
  • Schedule prototype, custom, and engineered products with limited historical production data.
  • Manage engineering change orders (ECOs) with minimal disruption to production schedules.
  • Identify manufacturing bottlenecks using Theory of Constraints (TOC) principles.
  • Balance constrained work centers to include fabrication, welding, machining, paint, assembly, and testing.
  • Coordinate labor and machine capacity across multiple value streams.
  • Ensure work orders are released only when required materials, drawings, tooling, and quality documentation are available.
  • Collaborate with Purchasing to proactively resolve shortages and supplier delays.
  • Develop recovery plans for critical shortages without negatively impacting overall schedule performance.
  • Identify opportunities to automate manual planning activities through ERP workflows, scheduling tools, reporting, alerts, and integrations.
  • Support integration development from excel based planning to ERP system and MES, PLM, CRM, WMS, barcode data collection, and production equipment where applicable.
  • Ensure planning processes support Lean Manufacturing principles by reducing manual transactions, eliminating duplicate data entry, improving schedule visibility, and enhancing decision-making through accurate, real-time information.
  • Train planners, production supervisors, and cross-functional users on ERP planning processes, scheduling best practices, and data integrity standards. Audit ERP transactions to ensure schedule integrity and accurate production reporting.
  • Develop dashboards that provide visibility into: Schedule attainment, Capacity utilization, Material shortages, Production bottlenecks, Queue times, Work-in-process, On-time delivery, Past-due work orders, Planning exceptions
  • Reduce schedule volatility through improved planning disciplines.
  • Increase schedule adherence while maintaining flexibility for customer priorities.
  • Improve ERP planning accuracy through root-cause analysis of planning exceptions.
  • Drive Lean scheduling methodologies that reduce lead time and improve manufacturing flow.

Master Scheduler


The Master Scheduler develops and manages the mid- to long-term production schedule, balancing customer delivery commitments with plant capacity. This role leads cross-functional alignment between engineering, purchasing, logistics, sales, and production to ensure the master schedule is accurate, achievable, and communicated effectively. In addition to overseeing schedule adherence, the Master Scheduler analyzes performance metrics, drives process improvements, and mentors scheduling staff. Strategic planning, advanced problem solving, and strong communication are the three most critical aspects of this position.


Job Duties:



  • Develop and maintain daily and weekly production schedules for a high-mix manufacturing environment with frequent schedule changes.

  • Prioritize production based on customer promise dates, revenue impact, engineering readiness, material availability, and manufacturing constraints.
