Job summary

VitalCore Health Strategies in Mississippi seeks a Master’s Level SUD Counselor at Walnut Grove Correctional Facility. This full-time behavioral health position engages with a multidisciplinary team to provide crisis stabilization, evaluations and individualized treatment plans for inmates.

You will collaborate with medical, psychiatry and community providers, employing CBT and Motivational Interviewing techniques, while ensuring accurate documentation and discharge planning.

Qualifications

• Graduation from a Master's level program or higher.
• Experience as a clinician/counselor/social worker in a public or private agency preferred.
• Individuals who are not certified must be under the direct supervision of a certified clinical supervisor with written documentation of supervision.

Responsibilities

• Provide crisis stabilization, complete intakes and ongoing evaluations, and provide consultation to in-house and community services.
• Participate in monthly behavioral health calls, work collaboratively with the medical team to determine overall treatment for each individual.
• The Master\'s Level SUD Counselor performs risk assessment of inmates; coordination of care with interdisciplinary team including medical staff, community providers, psychiatric hospitals and corrections; and discharge planning.
• Assist in planning and implementing the goals and objectives of programs and projects.
• Prepare documentation, records and reports.
• Utilize clinical skills such as prioritizing treatment needs; crisis management; brief clinical interventions including CBT and Motivational Interviewing.
• Maintain excellent and timely documentation.
