BAMSI’s Adult Day Treatment Center seeks a Lead Clinician to oversee clinical services, maintain an individual caseload, and guide staff in a recovery‑oriented program. This part‑time role blends hands‑on clinical work with supervision and program quality oversight.

You will manage treatment planning, documentation, and crisis response while collaborating with hospitals, state agencies, and community providers to support individuals in their recovery journey.

Qualifications

• Master’s degree in mental health counseling, psychology, social work, or related field.
• Eligible for independent licensure (LMHC, LCSW, or LICSW) for Master’s‑level candidates; independent licensure preferred.

Responsibilities

Lead Clinician – Adult Day Treatment Center

Location: Adult Day Treatment Center
Department: Behavioral Health Community Services (BHCS)
Schedule: 20 Hours/Week Monday - Friday
Pay:$27.00–$32.00/hour

Shape Treatment & Program Quality:
You’ll have a direct role in assessments, treatment planning, admissions, transitions, crisis response, staff development, and the implementation of evidence‑based practices.

What You’ll Do:

Serve as a clinical leader within the Adult Day Treatment Center, overseeing clinical services, treatment planning, documentation, and case management while providing direct support to individuals and clinical guidance to staff.

• Facilitate screenings, intakes, clinical assessments, and individualized treatment planning.
• Maintain an assigned caseload and ensure timely, person‑centered clinical documentation.
• Develop and review Adult Comprehensive Assessments, Individualized Action Plans (IAPs), daily group notes, and weekly progress notes.
• Plan, develop, and facilitate clinically appropriate individual and group treatment.
• Coordinate appropriate admissions, transitions, and discharges.
• Promote active participation and decision‑making by individuals throughout their treatment and recovery.
• Identify clinical risks and respond appropriately to crisis and emergency situations.
• Provide clinical supervision and guidance to paraprofessional staff as needed.
• Participate in multidisciplinary treatment team meetings and collaborate with other members of the clinical team.
• Promote the use of peer support, evidence‑based practices, and recovery‑oriented approaches throughout the program.
• Collaborate with external partners, including hospitals, crisis services, state agencies, community providers, and other organizations involved in an individual’s care.
• Support compliance with applicable MassHealth, DPH, CARF, MBHP, health, safety, and program standards.
• Assist the Program Director in identifying staff training needs and developing or presenting training when appropriate.
• Provide oversight of program operations in the absence of the Program Director.
• Maintain required professional licensure and training in accordance with BAMSI and Medicaid standards.
• Perform additional responsibilities as needed to support individuals, staff, and overall program operations.

What You Bring (Requirements):

Education:

• Master’s degree in Mental Health Counseling, Psychology, Counseling Psychology, Social Work, or a related behavioral health field required.

Licensure:

• Master’s-level candidates must be eligible for independent licensure (LMHC, LCSW, or LICSW).
• Independent clinical licensure (LMHC or LICSW) is preferred.
• Licensure in Mental Health Counseling, Occupational Therapy, Rehabilitation Counseling, or another related health field may also be considered as appropriate.

Experience:

• Three years of supervised clinical experience in a multidisciplinary treatment setting preferred.
• Familiarity with rehabilitation principles and the Recovery Model.

Clinical & Leadership Skills:

• Strong clinical assessment, treatment planning, documentation, and crisis intervention skills.
• Ability to provide clinical guidance and supervision to program staff.
• Ability to collaborate effectively as part of a multidisciplinary team.
• Commitment to person‑centered, recovery‑oriented treatment and supporting individuals in taking an active role in their care.

Logistics:

• Valid driver’s license and reliable personal transportation required for external meetings and other program‑related responsibilities.
