Mosby Building Arts seeks an experienced Master Plumber Supervisor to lead the plumbing department through pre-construction planning, crew development, quality control, and licensing compliance on residential remodeling projects.

You will review upcoming jobs with the design team, pull permits, manage scheduling, and ensure all work meets local codes. This role requires strong communication, leadership, and hands-on mentoring of apprentices on multi-site projects.

Qualifications

  • Master Plumber License active and in good standing.
  • 10+ years hands-on plumbing, with 3+ years supervisory experience in residential remodels.
  • Ability to review drawings, estimate scopes, and flag conflicts early.
  • Strong communication with crews, PMs, homeowners, and leadership.
  • Proficiency with basic technology tools and willingness to learn more.

Responsibilities

  • Lead plumbing department with pre-construction planning and crew development.
  • Review jobs with design team to ensure buildability and accurate estimates.
  • Pull plumbing permits and ensure code compliance across jurisdictions.
  • Directly supervise, schedule, and dispatch plumbers and apprentices.
  • Own material orders, vendor relations, and inventory for sites.
  • Mentor apprentices; provide on-site guidance to improve skills.
  • Conduct quality checks and safety walkthroughs; document KPI metrics.
  • Deliver excellent service to internal/external clients.

Job description

Reports To: Production Manager

Job Purpose: Lead the plumbing department through expert pre-construction planning, crew development, quality control, and licensing compliance to deliver flawless project execution for every Mosby client.

Key Responsibilities
  • Pre-Construction Collaboration: Review upcoming jobs with our design team to ensure all plumbing scopes are accurately estimated, physically buildable, and structurally sound.
  • Permitting & Compliance: Pull all necessary plumbing permits. Ensure all remodeling work meets or exceeds local codes.
  • Crew Management: Directly supervise, schedule, and dispatch a team of plumbing technicians and apprentices across active residential remodeling sites.
  • Logistics & Inventory: Take full ownership of material ordering, vendor relations, and inventory tracking to ensure project sites are staged and ready before crews arrive.
  • Apprentice Training: Actively mentor and train apprentices. Provide hands‑on guidance on‑site to build their skills, tool proficiency, and code knowledge.
  • Quality Control: Conduct walk‑throughs and inspections to maintain a high standard of craftsmanship
  • Own weekly KPI reporting — overhead hours, store trips, schedule changes, and rework
  • Provide excellent customer service to internal and external clients
  • Keep job sites safe and clean; adhere to all safety procedures
Minimum Requirements
  • Master Plumber License — active and in good standing; ability to pull permits in all jurisdictions where Mosby operates: St. Louis County & City, St. Charles Co, & Jefferson Co
  • 10 years of hands‑on plumbing trade experience and 3 years of supervisory, foreman, or management role within residential plumbing/remodeling
  • Sound decision‑making - resolves field issues and prioritizes competing demands with limited oversight
  • Ability to read drawings, identify scope, and flag conflicts before job start
  • Excellent communication skills — crew, Project Managers, homeowners, and leadership
  • Proficiency with basic technology tools — email, job management software, or willingness to learn
  • Valid Class E driver’s license and current auto insurance
  • Must supply own hand tools; specialty tools provided by Mosby
  • Ability to sit and work at a desk and on a computer for extended periods; field work requires standing, walking, kneeling, climbing ladders, and moving up to 75 lbs.
