We are assisting our client in the search for a Master Planning & Scheduling Manager to lead production planning and scheduling across a multi-site flexible packaging manufacturing network. This is a high-impact leadership role responsible for developing and executing integrated production plans, optimizing capacity and resources, and driving planning excellence across multiple plants.
This opportunity offers a hybrid work schedule with limited travel to other manufacturing locations.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and develop a team of planners and schedulers supporting multiple manufacturing facilities.
- Own the master production plan and scheduling process across the plant network, balancing customer demand, capacity, labor, materials, inventory, and operational priorities.
- Coordinate production flow across key flexible packaging operations, including printing, lamination, slitting, and bag converting.
- Partner with Operations, Customer Service, Sales, Procurement, and Plant Leadership to ensure schedule execution and customer delivery performance.
- Analyze capacity constraints, bottlenecks, and production scenarios to improve service levels, throughput, and cost performance.
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives focused on schedule attainment, inventory optimization, changeover reduction, and planning process effectiveness.
- Lead supply planning activities and support the organization's S&OP process through forecasting, capacity planning, and risk analysis.
- Enhance ERP/MRP planning capabilities, master data accuracy, reporting, and planning analytics.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain, Operations, Engineering, Business, or related field.
- 10+ years of production planning, scheduling, or supply chain leadership experience within manufacturing.
- 5+ years leading planning and scheduling teams across multiple manufacturing sites.
- Required: Significant experience in flexible packaging manufacturing, including planning exposure to printing, lamination, slitting, and bag converting operations.
- Proven success managing production plans and master schedules across multiple plants.
- Strong ERP/MRP expertise, capacity planning, inventory management, and production scheduling knowledge.
- Experience supporting S&OP or Integrated Business Planning processes.
- Excellent analytical, leadership, problem-solving, and cross-functional communication skills.
Preferred Qualifications
- APICS/ASCM certifications (CPIM, CSCP).
- Lean Manufacturing and/or Six Sigma experience.
- Experience implementing or improving planning systems, reporting tools, and operational analytics.
