The University of New Mexico – Gallup Branch invites applications for Adjunct Faculty to teach face-to-face courses in the Summer and Fall 2027 and Spring 2028 terms, including ARTS 221 and NAVA 1130: Navajo Weaving.

Ideal candidates hold Master Navajo weaving credentials; preferred are a BA in Fine Arts and 20+ years weaving Navajo rugs, with a deep commitment to fostering understanding of New Mexico’s cultures and supporting student success at the Gallup campus.

Competenze

• Minimum: regional or national recognition as a master weaver in the Navajo tradition.
• Preferred: BA/BFA in Fine/Studio arts; 20+ years weaving Navajo rugs; demonstrated commitment to cultural understanding and community service.

Mansioni

• Teach face-to-face courses as scheduled, including evenings or weekends.
• Deliver content and develop assignments for lower-division weaving courses.
• Grade assignments, report grades, and assess student learning per division standards.
• Coordinate with the Gallup Branch division chair and follow the course offering matrix.
• Report to the division chair and participate in program activities as needed.
