Job summary

Kemp Quarries, Inc. is seeking a Mechanic Master to maintain and repair our mobile equipment and crushing fleet. The role emphasizes safety, technical expertise, and the ability to work in demanding environments.

The Mechanic Master will perform preventative maintenance, inspections, and repairs on heavy equipment, read schematics, and collaborate with the shop to diagnose issues promptly.

Qualifications

• Must pass a drug screen and criminal background check.
• Technical school certification preferred; welding certification helpful.
• Valid driver’s license; CDL beneficial.
• Ability to work flexible schedules and travel to various locations.
• Strong troubleshooting skills across engines, transmissions, torque converters, differentials and final drives.
• Ability to read and interpret safety rules and instruction manuals.

Responsibilities

• Follow all MSHA, DOT, and company safety rules and regulations.
• Perform preventative maintenance, pre‑shift inspections, and repairs on mobile equipment.
• Maintain crushing and mobile equipment fleet.
• Operate and maintain company vehicles.
• Perform welding, brazing, and cutting as needed.
• Communicate effectively with the shop regarding repairs and equipment status.
• Complete additional duties as assigned.
