Job summary

Meijer is seeking experienced Hilo Maintenance personnel to maintain and repair diesel-powered highway equipment, trailers, and cooling units. You will perform welding-based major repairs and demonstrate certified welding skills on the job site.

Ideal candidates have a high school diploma and a proven track record with powered material handling equipment, including electrical diagnostics and complex repairs. This role emphasizes safety and reliability in a fast-paced distribution environment.

Qualifications

• High School diploma is required.
• Experience in welding and fabrication with a training course and demonstration of skill before hire.
• Six+ years as a Hilo Master Mechanic, with at least two years in powered material handling equipment.

Performs preventive maintenance and major repairs on diesel powered highway equipment, trailers and trailer cooling units. Practices 200% safety for self and others.

What You'll be Doing:

• Perform all repairs to Hilo equipment.

• Perform all major repairs requiring welding.

• Other duties as required.

What You Bring with You (Qualifications):

Distribution Hilo Maintenance Department:

• High School diploma.

• All Hilo Mechanics are required to have experience in welding and fabrication (training course - satisfactory completion) and must successfully demonstrate that skill prior to being awarded the job.

• A Hilo Master Mechanic must have at least six (6) years of experience, including at least two (2) years of experience with Powered (e.g. electric, liquid propane gas (l.p.g.)) material handling equipment (major mechanical, electrical diagnostics and repairs), and the minimum experience specified in the following categories.

• Formal schooling with certification may be counted to satisfy up to two (2) years of the total experience requirement and up to fifty percent (50%) of each individual category requirement.

a. Powered (e.g. electric, liquid propane gas (l.p.g.)) material handling equipment (major mechanical, electrical diagnostics, and repairs): 1 year

b. Hydraulic systems (major repairs): 1 year

c. Welding and fabrication (training course - satisfactory completion): 1 year
