Job summary

The Ohio Department of Transportation, District 2 seeks a full-time mechanic in Bowling Green, OH to perform preventative maintenance on cars, trucks and equipment. The role requires accurate maintenance records and the ability to overhaul engines as needed. A valid CDL is required if the equipment is regulated by law.

Work hours are 6:30am-3:00pm, Monday to Friday, with overtime eligibility. The position is classified and unionized under OCSEA, with a structured probationary period and

Qualifications

• ODOT mechanic: 24 months in automotive repair of vehicles and/or all equipment identified by agency; CDL required if regulated.
• ODOT Master Mechanic: 48 months in repair of vehicles/equipment; CDL required if regulated.
• Valid Class A CDL without air brake restriction, tanker endorsement may be required during probation and maintenance.

Responsibilities

• You will perform preventative maintenance and service on cars, trucks, and equipment.
• You will maintain records of repairs & maintenance.
• You will perform major overhauls of gasoline and/or diesel engines
• You will diagnose, troubleshoot, replace, and repair electronic systems
