Location Description

Wakefield is one of Michael Foods' largest production facilities, serving as a versatile plant capable of producing a wide range of products, including whole pasteurized eggs, liquids, dried goods, hardboiled eggs, and curds.

Responsibilities

Summary:

The Maintenance Electrician Subject Matter Expert (MESME) provides maintenance and reliability services, focusing on executional excellence and asset health improvement for electrical, instrumentation, and automation systems. The MESME collaborates with plant teams, suppliers, and engineering to ensure critical assets are properly maintained, tracked, and optimized. The role involves managing work orders, mentoring technicians, and reporting on asset performance, all while ensuring safety, food safety, and regulatory compliance. The MESME must hold current electrical licensure and be available for scheduled and unscheduled work, including weekends and holidays.

Key Duties:

• Lead electrical/instrumentation/automation maintenance teams, promoting safety, quality, and reliability improvements.
• Implement and oversee precision maintenance and performance projects.
• Coordinate training and develop procedures for critical equipment.
• Work with vendors and internal teams to troubleshoot and resolve issues.
• Manage documentation and reporting using approved CMMS tools.
• Ensure regulatory compliance and safety standards are consistently met.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in electrical engineering or related field preferred; relevant experience or technical certifications may suffice.
• 5-8 years of maintenance electrician experience preferred.
• Electrical license or certification required; NEC code knowledge at a master’s level preferred.
• Experience with PLCs, automation, and control panels advantageous.
• Willingness to travel approximately 10% of the time.
• Excellent communication, organizational, and project management skills.

Physical Requirements:
