Job summary

SAI Communications in the United States seeks a Master Electrician to support design-build energy infrastructure projects across commercial and industrial sectors. You will lead field execution, interpret drawings, and ensure safety and quality on site.

The role requires 5–8 years of related experience, a current Master Electrician or Journeyman license, and willingness to travel regionally and nationally as needed.

Qualifications

Master Electrician
Energy Infrastructure & Design-Build Construction

Position Description:

The Master Electrician will support the execution of design-build energy infrastructure projects across a variety of markets and customer sectors. Projects may include distributed energy resources, battery energy storage systems (BESS), microgrids, electric vehicle infrastructure, renewable energy systems, utility interconnections, and other commercial and industrial electrical installations.

This position is responsible for supporting field construction activities, maintaining project schedules, resolving installation and commissioning issues, and serving as a key point of communication with customers, utilities, contractors, engineers, and project stakeholders. The ideal candidate will possess strong electrical troubleshooting skills and experience working on complex commercial and industrial electrical systems.
Daily travel between job sites may be required. Work may involve frequent overnight travel, extended assignments, and occasional weekend or after-hours work based on project schedules and customer requirements. Periodic regional and national travel should be expected.

Primary Responsibilities:
  • Conduct site assessments, design walks, and constructability reviews with engineering teams, customers, utility representatives, and project stakeholders.
  • Develop scopes of work and technical requirements for subcontractor bidding and project execution.
  • Read, interpret, and implement electrical drawings, specifications, and construction documents.
  • Apply strong commercial and industrial electrical knowledge to identify power sources, distribution requirements, and installation solutions.
  • Support project planning, construction execution, startup activities, and commissioning efforts.
  • Oversee subcontractors and field crews to ensure work is completed safely, efficiently, and in accordance with project requirements.
  • Identify, troubleshoot, and resolve field installation issues during construction and startup.
  • Coordinate utility site visits, design reviews, and interconnection activities.
  • Maintain redline drawings and communicate field changes to engineering and design teams.
  • Perform quality control reviews, punch-list development, and project closeout activities.
  • Communicate effectively with customers, contractors, utilities, equipment vendors, and internal project teams.
  • Promote and enforce a strong safety culture by identifying hazards and implementing corrective actions when necessary.
  • Attend project meetings, construction coordination meetings, safety briefings, and customer updates as required.
  • Support commissioning, testing, startup, and turnover activities for completed installations.
Required Skills & Experience:
  • Minimum of 5-8 years of experience in commercial, industrial, utility, or energy-related construction environments.
  • Current Master Electrician or Journeyman Electrician license, as required by applicable state regulations.
  • Strong understanding of commercial and industrial electrical systems, power distribution, switchgear, transformers, controls, and utility infrastructure.
  • Experience supporting energy infrastructure projects, electrical construction, or mission-critical facilities is preferred.
  • Ability to read and interpret electrical drawings, one-line diagrams, specifications, and construction documents.
  • Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
  • Proficiency with electrical testing equipment and field diagnostics.
  • Valid driver's license with a satisfactory driving record.
  • Ability to pass applicable background screenings, drug testing, DOT physical requirements, and customer-specific site access requirements.
  • Completion of OSHA and other applicable safety training requirements.
  • Commitment to safe work practices and industry best practices.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team environment.
  • Self-motivated with strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and ability to manage multiple priorities simultaneously.
  • Willingness to travel as required to support project execution.
