Job summary

Peak Roofing & Solar is seeking a Staff Master Electrician to own the electrical side of every solar and energy storage install in the Carolinas. You’ll be the licensed electrician of record, guiding crews, ensuring safety, code compliance, and first-time inspections.

The role requires NC and/or SC Master Electrician licenses, NEC knowledge, rooftop access, and strong communication with homeowners and inspectors. Training and mentorship of installers are part of the job.

Qualifications

• Active Master Electrician license for NC and/or SC
• Residential solar PV and battery storage experience, including NEC 690 and 705
• Strong working knowledge of NEC and local amendments across the Carolinas
• Able to work on roofs, attics, crawlspaces, and garages; comfortable with ladders/lifts
• Clear communicator with homeowners, inspectors, and crews
• Nice to have: NABCEP PV Installation Professional certification, OSHA 30, EV charger install experience, generator/ATS, or multi-license qualifier

Responsibilities

• Perform and oversee electrical work on residential rooftop solar and battery storage installations (Enphase, Tesla Powerwall, FranklinWH, or similar)
• Handle AC/DC interconnections, service panel upgrades, main/subpanel work, rapid shutdown, grounding/bonding
• Serve as qualifier/license holder for Peak's electrical work in NC and SC
• Pull permits, coordinate interconnection with utilities, and represent Peak at inspections
• Perform system commissioning and troubleshooting on new and existing installs
• Train and mentor installers on electrical safety and best practices; enforce NEC and OSHA standards
• Review one-line diagrams and installation plans before work begins, flag design issues early

Staff Master Electrician – Solar & Battery Storage (NC & SC)

Peak Roofing & Solar is a residential exterior contractor serving Upstate South Carolina and expanding across the Carolinas. We do roofing, siding, windows, gutters, and solar, and our solar and battery business is growing fast. We're hiring a Staff Master Electrician to own the electrical side of every solar and energy storage install we put on a home.

This is a hands-on role with real ownership. You'll be the licensed electrician of record, the person our crews look to on the technical calls, and the one who makes sure every system we energize is safe, code-compliant, and passes inspection the first time.

What you'll do

• Perform and oversee electrical work on residential rooftop solar and battery storage installations (Enphase, Tesla Powerwall, FranklinWH, or similar)
• Handle AC/DC interconnections, service panel upgrades, main panel and subpanel work, rapid shutdown, and grounding/bonding
• Serve as qualifier/license holder for Peak's electrical work in North Carolina and South Carolina
• Pull permits, coordinate with utilities on interconnection (Duke Energy and co-ops), and represent Peak at inspections
• Perform system commissioning and troubleshooting on new and existing installs
• Train and mentor installers on electrical safety and best practices; enforce NEC and OSHA standards in the field
• Review one-line diagrams and installation plans before work begins, and flag design issues early

What you bring

• Active Master Electrician license in North Carolina and/or South Carolina (must be willing and able to obtain the other within [X] months)
• Residential solar PV and battery storage experience, including NEC 690 and 705
• Strong working knowledge of the current NEC and local amendments across the Carolinas
• Ability to work on roofs and in attics, crawlspaces, and garages; comfortable with ladders and lifts
• Clean driving record and valid driver's license
• Clear communicator who's comfortable with homeowners, inspectors, and crews
• Nice to have: NABCEP PV Installation Professional certification, OSHA 30, experience with EV charger installs, generator/ATS work, or qualifier experience with multiple licenses
