Insight Contracting – Master Electrician
Pay: $28.00 - $35.00 per hour
Job Type: Full-Time, Part-Time

Description:
We are looking for a Master Electrician to join our team. They must hold a Master’s License in Boone County and the City of Columbia, as we perform commercial and residential maintenance on construction developments in and around the Columbia area.

Candidates should be able to perform skilled work in the installation, maintenance, service, and repair of electrical systems, equipment, and fixtures.

The ideal candidate will have experience in the residential and commercial construction industry and the ability to provide some of their own tools. The candidate should also be familiar with construction industry safety standards to ensure project security and be able to work with minimal supervision in a fast-paced environment.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Install, maintain, troubleshoot, diagnose, and repair a variety of electrical systems and equipment.
  • Inspect, diagnose, maintain, and repair breaker boxes and electrical panels.
  • Use ohmmeters, voltmeters, and other testing equipment to troubleshoot electrical issues.
  • Repair and replace outlets, lighting, and other electric devices.
  • Install, maintain, and repair AC, DC, high-, and low-voltage electrical wiring systems.
  • Perform installation, maintenance, and repair on fixtures.
  • Inspect and test electrical systems to ensure the proper operation of the equipment and provide reports or repair directives to keep rental units in compliance with City of Columbia, OSHA, and NEC regulations.
  • Troubleshoot work orders with tenants over the phone and in-person.
  • Maintain a clean and organized inventory in company storage and provided vehicles.

  • Provide on-call services on rotation as defined by our Emergency Maintenance Standards.
  • Perform work during the process of unit turns within a deadline set by management.
  • Assist supervisor with ordering maintenance supplies while staying within budget.
  • Depending on the nature of the work performed, you may be provided with Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) appropriate to the task assigned.
  • Keep accurate time and detailed records of work performed at each location through the use of a service-tracking application installed on a mobile device.
  • Work with other technicians to develop a comprehensive maintenance team that can provide top-notch service while minimizing callbacks.
  • Communicate effectively with management, tenants, and other technicians.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications:
  • A valid driver’s license and corporate-insurable driving record.
  • High School Diploma or GED equivalent.
  • Master’s License in Boone County and the City of Columbia.
  • 2+ years of electrical work experience in a residential, commercial, or industrial setting.
  • OSHA 10 or OSHA 30 Certification a plus.
  • Ability to read blueprints, plans, drawings, wiring diagrams, and electrical codes.
This position will require the following on a daily basis:
  • Grasp, lift, maneuver, rotate, and otherwise use small to large trades tools and equipment.
  • Grasp, lift, carry, and set down heavy objects (50-80 lbs).
  • Grasp, turn, twist, pull, push, lift, and otherwise move equipment, controls, parts, etc.
  • Visually assess maintenance, construction, and repair needs.
This position may be subject to the following:
  • Will be required to work in hot and cold environments.
  • May at times be exposed to weather elements.
  • May at times be exposed to work in wet conditions.
