We’re seeking a Master Electrician to join our team at the Bangor Air National Guard Base. This role involves working on a variety of electrical systems, supporting military readiness and emergency response in Maine.

As part of the Department of Defense, Veterans' and Emergency Management (DVEM), you’ll help maintain over 550,000 sq. ft. of facilities and 49 buildings. You’ll support the 101st Air Refueling Wing in Bangor and additional units in South Portland.

Work hours are Monday through Friday, 6:00am-2:30pm, offering a good work-life balance. Benefits include generous vacation time, 13 paid holidays, and 12 sick days annually.

What You’ll Do:

  • Install, maintain, modify, and repair electrical systems across multiple sites, with travel between facilities in Bangor and South Portland using a State vehicle.
  • Interpret blueprints, schematics, and diagrams.
  • Troubleshoot electrical issues and respond to service calls, including emergency repairs.
  • Ensure compliance with electrical codes and safety standards.
  • Collaborate on installations and facility upgrades.

Successful Candidates will have:

  • Experience in commercial electrical work, including construction and materials, with understanding of construction processes.
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints and schematics for pumps, motors, and valves.

Physical Aspects of the Role:

  • Lifting up to 50 lbs. and carrying loads up to 75 feet.
  • Climbing ladders and working in confined spaces.
  • Bending, reaching, and moving equipment.
  • Working independently and in teams in varied physical settings.

Minimum Qualifications:

Current Master Electrician’s License issued by the Electrician’s Examining Board.

Licensing/registration/certification requirements:

  • Master Electrician's license.
  • State of Maine Class C motor vehicle operator’s license.
  • Possession of a Certificate of Special Training in High Voltage work may be required for some positions.
