Master Electrician – Austin, TX
Pay Rate
$45.00 - $50.00/hour
Position Summary
The Master Electrician is responsible for electrical installation, troubleshooting, repair, maintenance, and related services on roadway lighting, facility lighting, and electrical systems.
Required Experience / Qualifications
- Valid Texas Master Electrical License required
- Experience with 480V and below 3-phase and single-phase electrical systems
- Roadway lighting and traffic signal experience preferred but not required
- Strong professionalism, work ethic, and leadership abilities
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Strong organizational and prioritization skills
- Ability to work independently and supervise a team when needed
- Supervisory experience preferred
- Computer experience preferred
- Valid driver’s license with clean driving record; CDL is a plus
- Ability to pass background screening and pre-employment testing
- Ability to work occasional nights, weekends, and emergency response schedules
Responsibilities
- Perform electrical troubleshooting, repairs, and maintenance with minimal supervision
- Maintain roadway illumination and facility electrical systems
- Support interior and exterior electrical maintenance operations
- Follow established safety procedures and company protocols
- Perform preventive maintenance activities
- Operate from elevated heights using bucket trucks
- Complete work orders using handheld devices and maintenance software
- Assist with retrofit projects and additional electrical work efforts
- Communicate effectively with management, team members, and client representatives
- Respond to emergency situations and on-call needs as required
Schedule
- Full-time day shift position
- Some scheduled night work required
- Emergency response availability required
- Flexibility needed during snow and ice weather events
