Job summary

Coastal Waste & Recycling in Boca Raton is seeking a Diesel Technician A (Master Technician) to diagnose, repair, inspect, and maintain heavy-duty trucks, refuse vehicles, and yellow iron. You will perform advanced diagnostics, complete complex repairs, and mentor junior technicians to uphold safety and workmanship.

Qualifications

• Five or more years of heavy-duty diesel technician experience.
• Medium/Heavy Truck Master ASE Certification.
• Experience diagnosing and repairing diesel engines, hydraulics, electrical systems, transmissions, suspension, steering, and air brake systems.
• Experience repairing yellow iron and heavy equipment.
• Valid driver's license with an acceptable driving record.
• Must provide and maintain a professional set of tools.
• Class A CDL, Brake Certification, OEM certifications, and refuse industry experience are a plus.

Responsibilities

• Diagnose and repair complex mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, pneumatic, engine, transmission, steering, suspension, and air brake system issues.
• Perform preventive maintenance inspections to maximize fleet reliability and minimize downtime.
• Repair and maintain refuse trucks, vocational vehicles, trailers, yellow iron, and other heavy equipment.
• Utilize OEM diagnostic software and electronic testing equipment to troubleshoot equipment failures.
• Perform welding, fabrication, cutting, and metal repairs using steel and aluminum welding equipment.
• Inspect completed repairs to ensure equipment meets company safety standards, DOT regulations, and manufacturer specifications.
• Mentor Diesel Technician B and Diesel Technician C team members by sharing technical knowledge and best practices.
• Partner with Fleet leadership to identify repair priorities and recommend long-term maintenance solutions.
• Accurately complete repair orders, inspections, maintenance documentation, and parts records.
• Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment while following OSHA regulations and company safety standards.
• Respond to emergency breakdowns and field repairs as operational needs require.
