What You'll Do

As Master Data Lead, you will serve as Sol de Janeiro’s senior subject matter expert for SAP master data, independently leading governance and execution across critical data domains. You will translate enterprise standards into scalable processes, controls, and solutions that support a high-growth global business.

This is a highly collaborative role that balances program ownership with hands‑on execution. You will lead complex master data initiatives, establish practical standards, ensure data is accurate and launch‑ready, and partner across Procurement, Planning, Commercialization, Manufacturing Partners, Logistics, Finance, IT, and Customer Operations to resolve issues and improve how work gets done.

This role is suited to an experienced individual contributor with strong SAP master data expertise, end‑to‑end business process knowledge, and the judgment to independently solve complex problems, influence stakeholders, and turn standards into sustainable ways of working.

The right person will bring sound judgment, comfort with ambiguity, and the ability to lead cross‑functional work without direct authority while delivering practical, scalable solutions and measurable improvements.

What You'll Be Working On
  • Enterprise Governance & Accountability
  • Lead the design and implementation of Sol de Janeiro’s master data governance practices within assigned domains, including standards, stewardship roles, approval pathways, ownership responsibilities, and decision rights.
  • Recommend and implement ways of working that help the business move quickly while protecting data quality, compliance, financial reporting, planning, procurement, and operational execution.
  • SAP Master Data Execution
  • Independently manage the creation, maintenance, validation, approval, and continuous improvement of critical SAP master data, resolving complex exceptions and escalating material risks when needed.

Own governance and operational readiness across core SAP master data domains, including but not limited to:

  • Material Master
  • Business Partners (Customers and Suppliers)
  • Bills of Material (BOM)
  • Purchasing Info Records
  • Source Lists
  • Production Versions
  • Product Hierarchies
  • Customer Material Information Records
  • Material Classifications and Characteristics
  • Units of Measure
  • Packaging Specifications
  • Planning Data
  • Procurement Data
  • Sales Data
  • Transportation and Shipping Attributes
  • Quality Management Master Data
  • Partner with Commercialization, Product Development, Procurement, Planning, Manufacturing Partners, and Logistics so master data is complete, accurate, controlled, and ready before SAP activation.
  • Enable new product introductions, product changes, discontinuations, regional launches, and acquisitions through disciplined, accurate, and timely master data execution.
Data Quality, Controls & Reporting
  • Define KPIs, dashboards, audits, and reporting that make data quality, completeness, compliance, and stewardship performance visible and actionable.
  • Create validation rules, naming conventions, approval controls, and remediation practices that prevent recurring data defects and reduce downstream disruption.
  • Ensure SAP master data supports the business outcomes that depend on it, including planning, procurement, manufacturing, logistics, customer fulfillment, quality, regulatory, and financial reporting.
  • Commercialization & Launch Readiness: Lead master data readiness for launches and business changes, including new products, promotional items, regional expansions, reformulations, packaging changes, discontinuations, and acquisition integrations.
  • Drive cross‑functional readiness reviews that surface data risks early, accelerate issue resolution, and protect launch data timelines before execution is impacted.
  • Confirm end‑to‑end readiness by validating dependencies across Material Master, BOMs, Purchasing Info Records, Business Partners, Product Hierarchies, Units of Measure, Packaging Specifications, and Planning Master Data.
Change Enablement & Stewardship
  • Serve as a senior SAP master data subject matter expert, translating complex concepts into clear business guidance, practical standards, and adoptable ways of working.
  • Create training, documentation, SOPs, process maps, and stakeholder education that strengthen ownership, stewardship, and accountability across the enterprise.
  • Coach and support a network of Data Stewards through workshops, guidance, and operating routines that embed accountability into day‑to‑day business execution.
Cross‑Functional Leadership
  • Translate business needs into scalable SAP master data solutions by partnering across Supply Chain, Procurement, Commercial, Finance, IT, Quality, Regulatory, Logistics, Manufacturing Partners, and Product Development.
  • Represent master data requirements in SAP projects, commercial initiatives, acquisitions, and transformation efforts by providing practical standards, risk assessments, and data‑driven recommendations.
  • Work with IT to strengthen workflows, automation, and SAP capabilities that improve master data performance and scalability.
  • Process Improvement & Scale: Improve master data processes, workflows, automation, and controls to increase efficiency, reduce manual effort, and strengthen operational resilience.
  • Partner with business process owners and IT to simplify ways of working, improve end‑to‑end performance, and recommend SAP S/4HANA enhancements that support continued growth.

In the first 12 months, success will look like:

  • Influences cross‑functional teams and business leaders without direct authority.
  • Communicates clearly with technical and business stakeholders, translating complex SAP concepts into practical business solutions.
  • Creates standards, policies, training, and change enablement practices that are adopted and sustained by the business.
  • Solves complex business problems by connecting process requirements, data dependencies, and scalable SAP solutions.
  • Challenges assumptions, asks thoughtful questions, and holds the line on standards before approval.
