Job summary

Carriage House Door Company seeks a Production Associate to build and assemble custom garage doors per CAD drawings and production specs. You will select materials, read measurements, and ensure quality through inspection and adjustments.

You will maintain safety, productivity, and a clean work area while collaborating with team members to meet schedules and customer commitments. Background checks and drug testing are required.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
  • Experience in woodworking, carpentry, cabinetmaking, construction, manufacturing, assembly, or a related field is preferred.
  • Ability to read and interpret CAD drawings, production specifications, work orders, and quality standards is preferred.
  • Must satisfactorily complete all pre-employment requirements including a background check, physical examination, and drug screening.

Responsibilities

  • Build and assemble custom-designed garage doors according to CAD drawings, production specifications, customer requirements, quality standards, and production schedules.
  • Select, handle, and assemble wood and related materials using appropriate woodworking methods and tools.
  • Read measurements accurately throughout production, including tape measures.
  • Inspect materials and products to verify quality and communicate concerns.
  • Visualize finished products and adjust during build to achieve desired quality and craftsmanship.
  • Maintain production efficiency while meeting quality, safety, and productivity targets.
  • Communicate production issues, material shortages, safety and quality concerns, and improvements to supervisors and teammates.
  • Maintain a clean, safe, and organized work environment and comply with company policies and safety procedures.
  • Collaborate with supervisors to support schedules, customer commitments, and the employee-owner culture.

Job description

  • Build and assemble custom-designed garage doors according to CAD drawings, production specifications, customer requirements, quality standards, and production schedules.
  • Select, handle, and assemble wood and related materials using appropriate woodworking methods, construction techniques, hand tools, power tools, and production equipment.
  • Read and accurately apply measurements, including the use of a tape measure, throughout the production process.
  • Inspect materials and products throughout production to verify quality standards, identify defects, perform minor repairs when appropriate, and communicate quality concerns to the appropriate personnel.
  • Visualize finished products and make adjustments throughout the build process to achieve desired quality, appearance, and craftsmanship.
  • Maintain production efficiency while consistently meeting established quality, safety, and productivity expectations.
  • Communicate production issues, material shortages, safety concerns, quality concerns, and improvement opportunities to supervisors and appropriate team members.
  • Maintain a clean, safe, and organized work environment, including assigned tools, equipment, materials, and work areas.
  • Comply with all Company policies, safety procedures, and applicable regulatory requirements.
  • Work collaboratively with supervisors and team members to support production schedules, customer commitments, and Carriage House Door Company's employee-owner culture.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

Education and Work Experience

  • High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
  • Experience in woodworking, carpentry, cabinetmaking, construction, manufacturing, assembly, or a related field is preferred.
  • Basic knowledge of woodworking or construction methods, or the ability to learn and apply them, is required.
  • Ability to read and interpret CAD drawings, production specifications, work orders, and quality standards is preferred.
  • Ability to consistently produce quality work while meeting established production and safety expectations is required.
  • Must satisfactorily complete all pre-employment requirements applicable to the position, including a background check, physical examination, and drug screening.

Licensing/Certification: None.

Technology/Computer Skills: Basic computer skills.

Communication/Interpersonal Skills: Strongwritten and verbal communication skillsusing professional business grammar; professional, customer-focused demeanor; proficient at reading and interpretingCAD drawing

Mathematical Skills: Demonstratesthe ability to perform basic mathematical calculations involving whole numbers, fractions, decimals, and measurements. Accurately reads a tape measure and applies measurements required for production work.

Reasoning Ability: Demonstrates sound judgment, attention to detail, and problem-solving skills to identify production issues, evaluate material quality, make appropriate adjustments, and communicate concerns while maintaining quality and safety standards.

Mental/Emotional Demands: Able to meet production expectations and deadlines while maintaining quality and safety standards. Requires planning, organization, attention to detail, teamwork, adaptability, and the ability to work in a fast-paced manufacturing environment. Able to accept feedback, communicate issues, and maintain positive working relationships.

Work Environment Works in a manufacturing environment and may be exposed to noise, wood dust, airborne particles, adhesives, finishes, moving mechanical parts, production equipment, forklifts, material handling equipment, and varying temperatures. Personal protective equipment (PPE) is required as applicable.

Physical Demands: Frequentlystands, walks, bends, reaches, pushes, pulls, grasps, lifts, carries, and uses hands and arms to handle tools, materials, and finished products. Occasionally climbs, kneels, crouches, stoops, and performs repetitive motions. Mayliftupto 50 pounds occasionally, 30 pounds frequently, and 10 pounds continuously, with or without reasonable accommodation.

Supervisory Responsibility: None.

Degree of Supervision: Direct Supervision: Work is performed according to established work orders, CAD drawings, production specifications, quality standards, and safety procedures. The Production Associate receives detailed instructions, guidance, and direction from the supervisor or lead regarding work assignments, priorities, production expectations, and quality requirements. A supervisor or lead is readily available toprovide assistance, answer questions, and ensure work is completed in accordance with established methods and Company standards.
