Qualifications

• 7+ years of bench experience in a luxury or high-volume fine jewelry setting.
• Advanced skill in laser welding, platinum work, and microscope-assisted stone setting.
• Experience handling valuable diamonds and delicate colored gemstones, custom work, and estate pieces.
• Strong communication, attention to detail, and pride in workmanship.

Responsibilities

• Advanced repairs, sizing, fabrication, and restoration in platinum, 14K and 18K gold, and silver.
• Micro-pavé, channel, bezel, and prong setting for high-value gemstones.
• Laser welding and microscope-assisted work on intricate repairs and restorations.
• Luxury watch bracelet adjustments and link removal.
• Custom projects, repair options, and realistic timelines with the sales team.
• Final quality check on every piece for secure settings and showroom-ready finish.
• Maintain a clean, organized, and safe workspace.

Mervis Diamond Importers is hiring an experienced Master Bench Jeweler for our Tysons, VA showroom. This role is for a skilled professional who takes pride in exceptional repairs, complex platinum restorations, and precision stone setting.

Pay: $70,000 to $100,000 a year, based on experience

What you'll work on

What we're looking for

• Advanced skill in laser welding, platinum work, and microscope-assisted stone setting
• Experience handling valuable diamonds, delicate colored gemstones, custom work, and estate pieces
• Strong communication skills, attention to detail, and pride in your work

The bench test

Finalists complete a fully paid, in-person bench test covering platinum sizing, micro-pavé setting, and retipping around delicate gemstones.
