Job summary

Gentleman’s Grooming Lounge in Stamford, CT is seeking a dynamic Master Barber to lead our team of stylists and barbers. You will mentor, set service standards, and deliver exceptional client experiences while overseeing daily operations and ensuring top sanitation practices.

You will drive retail sales, maintain inventory, and train staff on color theory, extensions, and modern techniques, using MINDBODY for scheduling and client management.

Qualifications

• Proven cosmetology or barbering credentials with a strong portfolio across styling, color, extensions, lashes, makeup and nails.
• Experience using MINDBODY or similar salon scheduling software.
• Leadership or mentoring experience in a salon or barbershop setting.
• Knowledge of sanitation protocols in beauty services to ensure client safety.
• Excellent communication skills for service education and product recommendations.
• Familiarity with retail upselling and achieving sales targets.

Responsibilities

• Lead by example with advanced skills in hair styling, extensions, lashes, makeup, and nail care.
• Mentor and train team members on techniques like straight razor shaves, threading, and upselling.
• Manage salon operations including appointment scheduling and front desk duties using MINDBODY.
• Maintain impeccable sanitation standards across all services and comply with health regulations.
• Foster a welcoming environment with exceptional customer service and client relationships.
• Drive retail sales through upselling related hair care, cosmetics and nail products.
• Oversee inventory management and support retail merchandising to maximize opportunities.
• Support team development through ongoing education on trends and new styling techniques.
