Delta World Tire, a leading independent tire dealer in Mississippi, offers automotive repair services with ASE-certified technicians on staff. We stock over 30,000 tires and provide maintenance services for alignments, brakes, oil changes, batteries, shocks, belts, hoses, and A/C systems.

The Senior Automotive and Diesel Technician will diagnose and repair vehicles, ensuring work is performed correctly and efficiently while maintaining high customer satisfaction.

Qualifications

• ASE certifications may replace experience.
• Valid Driver’s license required.
• High School Diploma or equivalent; technical school preferred.

Responsibilities

• Diagnose vehicles per certification/experience level.
• Perform multi-point inspections and repairs with accuracy.
• Explain repairs to customers and store personnel.
• Recommend services to keep vehicles running and document in file.
• Follow safety procedures and company policies.
• Work flexible schedules, Monday - Friday.

Our ASE certified technicians will be happy to help you on a wide range of services including alignments, brake repair, oil changes, batteries, shocks and struts, belts and hoses, and air conditioning.

Senior Automotive and Diesel Technician

ensures that repairs are performed correctly and efficiently by qualified technicians and that the service department maintains a consistently high level of customer satisfaction. They are also responsible for effectively and efficiently diagnosing and repairing customer vehicles while adhering to the MAP guidelines and in accordance with dealership, manufacturers, and Delta World Tire & Service standards.

Compensation

Up to $50 flag rate plus a sign-on bonus up to $2,000.

Principal Duties and Responsibilities

Diagnoses vehicles according to the appropriate level of certifications/experience.Performs work as outlined on the Multi-point Inspection and/or Repair Order with efficiency and accuracyPerforms complex and heavy-duty repairsExplains technical diagnosis and needed repairs to non-mechanical individuals which may include the Store Manager, Service Consultants and/or customersRecommends services that are necessary to keep the customer’s vehicle in running condition; properly documents all recommendations in customer fileFollows all safety procedures and reports any concerns to direct supervisorAdheres to Sun Auto’s core values, all company policies and procedures as outlined in the Employee HandbookAbility to work flexible schedules, Monday - Friday

Qualifications

Previous automotive technician / mechanic experience requiredASE certifications in lieu of experienceAbility to demonstrate proper use of computerized equipment for diagnosticsValid Driver’s license in the work State (out-of-state driver’s licenses must be transferred to work state within 30 days of hire)High School Diploma or equivalent; Technical School experience preferred

Working Conditions and Physical Demands

Senior Automotive Technician will be exposed to moderate to loud noises, dust, exhaust fumes, lubricants, petroleum products, vapors, caustic materials, and other hazardous and non-hazardous materials. The temperature in the work environment varies and could include extreme heat and/or extreme cold depending on the ambient temperatures outside. The use of safety goggles or other PPE may be required when working in these conditions. Senior Automotive Technician must be able to meet the following physical requirements:Stand up to eight hours per day in the shop and able to walk to gain access to various areas of the buildingBend, stoop, kneel and crouch regularly throughout the day; must have full range of motion with arms and hands and be able to feel, handle or finger objects frequentlyLift and/or move up to 10 pounds regularly, lift and/or move up to 70 pounds frequently.Communicate with customers and shop personnelVision sufficient to detect color, depth, and re-focus
