Description

SUMMARY:

The Massage Therapist will provide excellent spa treatment services not limited to massages attending to any immediate needs throughout their spa visit.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Provide spa services in a timely manner, utilizing proper draping procedures and treatment protocols, remaining quiet through treatment.
  • Educate guests on the benefits of their treatment and how to continue the spa experience after departing the spa.
  • Recommend and sell spa products to guests.
  • Set up work station with necessary supplies.
  • Courteously and expediently accommodate all guest requests and follow up to ensure completion of request.
  • Handle guest complaints and questions, ensuring guest satisfaction.
  • Ask guests about any contraindications before beginning service.
  • Maintain cleanliness of spa, including transporting soiled linens to the proper areas.
  • Inform the Spa Front Desk Lead of all supply and material needs.
  • Attend all meetings, trainings, and workshops as required by the Spa Director.
  • Other projects and duties as assigned.
Qualifications

QUALIFICATIONS

Education/Experience:

  • A minimum of 500 hours of massage training from an accredited/approved massage school required; Washington State Massage Practitioner license or Idaho Certification required.
  • One to three years previous experience in a spa, private practice, doctors office, and/or chiropractors office preferred.
  • Must have current CPR and first aid certifications or obtain within 6 months of hire.
  • Certifications in a variety of massage modalities preferred.

Skills/Knowledge:

  • Must be able to remain calm under pressure.
  • Excellent verbal communication skills required.
  • Must have an excellent attendance history free of no call/no show policy violations.
  • Basic computer skills required.
  • Must be able to maintain strict confidentiality.
  • Must be able to work with minimal supervision.
  • Must work well in a team environment.
  • Must have a strong understanding/knowledge base of the spa industry, services, and products with an emphasis of all massage and body treatments offered at the spa.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to perform four-and-a-half hour treatments; stand for up to 6 hours; walk; perform repetitious activities; use hands to finger, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms; and talk or hear. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, and ability to adjust focus. This position will require the individual to work a variety of shifts, often within the same work week, and may require overtime as necessary to fulfill priority tasks.
