Summary:
Provides body work therapy to clients within the scope of individual training and certification. Reports directly to the Massage Program Coordinator.

Responsibilities:

1. Ensures cleanliness of work areas before and after use, sets up and breaks down work areas, and maintains supplies. Cleans spills immediately. Demonstrates dependability and flexibility with work schedules. Maintains the assigned schedule. Practices universal health care protocols when interacting with clients and coworkers.
2. Explains procedures clearly to clients, respecting their individual needs and preferences. Maintains client confidentiality at all times, both on and off-site. Reports unusual client interactions to the supervisor immediately.
3. Performs health history assessments on new and returning clients prior to sessions, noting precautions and contraindications. Documents information on standardized forms and consults with staff as needed for continuity of care.
4. Performs additional duties to support the Wellness Center’s development, including marketing through chair massages, workshops, and promotional events.
5. Delivers safe, appropriate, and effective body work therapy. Develops individualized sessions based on client health history and feedback, adjusting techniques as needed during sessions.

Other Information:

Education: Graduation from an accredited Massage program.

Licensure/Certification: Licensed by the North Carolina Board of Massage and Body Work Therapy. Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.

Experience: At least one (1) year of massage therapy experience.
