JOB SUMMARY:

Responsible for guiding the clients through the Spa’s service offerings while helping them choose the type of massage or treatment that will benefit them the most. Will be responsible for inquiring about relevant medical history (injuries) and creating a relaxing ambiance for the clients. Will assist the Spa Director, Managers/Supervisors in maintaining the highest standards of professionalism in all aspects of operations. To ensure all treatments are carried out to the highest standards and targets are met. Will also be responsible for maintaining the four-star level of cleanliness required to be aligned with the Aveda mission.

MAIN DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Being knowledgeable of all treatments offered and any promotions on offer at any given time
• keeping up the high standard of treatment and service
• Recommending retail products to clients
• Achieving sales targets as set by the Spa Director
• Filling out the Product Recommendation Form
• Arriving 15 minutes before the start of your shift to allow sufficient time to prepare for your workday
• Being on time for appointments and thoroughly reviewing appointments after completing each treatment.
• Accommodate last-minute bookings
• Is responsible for daily cleanliness & hygiene of equipment, products, and treatment areas. All treatment rooms must be left stocked and cleaned per standards at the end of each shift.
• Maintaining the stock at the correct level following set standards
• Using the correct quantities of products as specified by the manufacturer and not exceeding that amount.
• Completing all monthly side work
• Assisting with demonstrations/ events as required
• Reporting dysfunctional equipment to Management
• Ensuring that daily sales figures are accurately recorded
• Covering the reception as and when required
• Must adhere to training as set down by the Spa Director, Lead Therapist, Managers & Supervisors.
• Attending all training courses as deemed necessary by the Head Therapist
• Supervising and conducting the safety of users and equipment at the Spa and receiving training to ensure that all relevant legislation pertaining to the Health and Safety at Work Law and Health and Hygiene standards are implemented and monitored within the Spa
• Performing any other duties as deemed reasonable by management

OTHER DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Maintain the highest level of customer service and guest satisfaction according to the standards set forth by The Palms Hotel and Spa
• Ensure compliance with health and sanitation policies in all areas
• Adhere to all fire, safety, and security procedures according to hotel policy
• Adhere to all sustainability guidelines as per the Inspired by Nature Program.

QUALIFICATIONS

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Required:

• 1-3 years of relevant experience
• Fluency in English, both verbal and non-verbal
• Provide legible communication and direction
• Compute basic mathematical calculations (add, subtract, multiply and divide numbers)
• Experience with computers and spa software
• Attention to detail and skilled organization
• Ability to work effectively in a multi-cultural team environment
• Fluency in the English language (written and verbal), a second language is an asset
• Ability to handle a multitude of tasks in an intense, ever-changing environment
• Show genuine care for all co-workers and guest(s)
• Maintain a professional appearance and manner at all times
