The University of Virginia seeks a skilled Massage Therapist to deliver therapeutic services in both inpatient and outpatient settings. Ideal candidates will be licensed in Virginia and possess experience in oncology massage therapy. Responsible for administering massage therapy techniques to patients in an inpatient or outpatient setting as directed by physicians and registered nurses.
In addition to the above job responsibilities, other duties may be assigned.
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS
Education: Graduated from an approved school of massage therapy.
Experience: No experience required. Prefer previous oncology massage therapy experience in infusion clinic, and/or CE in oncology massage.
Licensure: Currently licensed to practice Massage Therapy in the Commonwealth of Virginia.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS
Job requires standing for prolonged periods, frequently bending/stooping/traveling; Repetitive motion: massaging. Proficient communicative, auditory and visual skills; Attention to detail and ability to write legibly; Ability to lift/push/pull 50 – 100lbs. May be exposed to chemicals, blood/body fluids and infectious disease.
