Massage Therapist - Full Time - The Langham, Chicago

Primary Objective of Position:

The primary responsibility is to deliver excellent quality Spa services to guests, visitors, and members in a timely, courteous, and efficient manner. Escorts clients to and from treatment rooms, attends to immediate needs throughout the Spa visit, provides information to inquiries, and helps coordinate all guest requests for services.

Responsibilities and Job Duties:
  • Maintain complete knowledge of Spa Services, Products, and Fitness Programs.
  • Maintain knowledge of Forbes, Chuan Spa, and The Langham standards, and comply with hotel and departmental policies and procedures.
  • Set up workstation and treatment room following sanitation protocols and ensure supplies are stocked. Maintain cleanliness throughout the shift.
  • Accommodate guest requests promptly and courteously.
  • Handle guest complaints by following guest pacification procedures to ensure satisfaction.
  • Assist in maintaining cleanliness of prep rooms, Spa, locker rooms, and treatment rooms following sanitation protocols.
  • Escort guests to and from treatments.
  • Maintain cleanliness of Spa and treatment areas.
Physical Requirements:
  • Requires walking or standing for significant periods.
  • Ability to lift up to 20 lbs.
Special Skills Required:
  • Provide timely Spa services that offer a relaxing and beneficial experience.
  • Knowledge of draping procedures and protocols.
  • Focus on Guest needs, remaining calm and courteous.
  • Remain quiet during treatments.
  • Promote positive relations with guests and staff.
  • Perform job functions with minimal supervision.
  • Complete a minimum number of treatments per shift.
  • Work cohesively with other departments and team members.
  • Recommend and sell Spa products and services.
  • Knowledge of all Massage and Body Treatments offered.
  • Remain stationary at assigned post for extended periods.
  • Think clearly, make quick decisions, and maintain concentration.
  • Prioritize, organize, and follow up on tasks.
  • Maintain guest confidentiality.
  • Read, write, and speak basic English for communication and documentation.
Education Required:
  • Massage school degree.
Experience Required:
  • One to three years of experience in a Spa, Private Practice, or related setting.
  • Current Illinois state Massage license.
  • Luxury Spa experience preferred.
Pay Range:
  • $12.66 - $15.83/hour, plus discretionary gratuities, commissions, and service charges.
