Reedsburg Area Medical Center is seeking a Massage Therapist to provide therapy services within the Massage Therapy Department. Services are offered to private-pay clients, inpatients, and community agencies to promote relaxation and well-being.

Job description

The Massage Therapist works within the Massage Therapy Department and provides massage therapy services for private-pay clients, inpatients, and community agencies. This position utilizes a variety of massage techniques to promote relaxation, comfort, and overall well-being.

Schedule:

3 Days Per week

8AM-5:00PM

Education and Training Required:

• Current State of Wisconsin license as a Massage Therapist or Bodywork Therapist
• Completion of an accredited massage therapy program
• Knowledge of various massage modalities and techniques
• Current BLS certification
• Membership in a professional association preferred

Experience:

Previous massage therapy experience is preferred, particularly with:

• Hot stone massage
• Swedish massage
• Deep tissue massage
• Reflexology

Physical Requirements:

Dynamic Strength - The ability to exert muscle force repeatedly or continuously over time. This involves muscular endurance and resistance to muscle fatigue.

Arm-Hand Strength - The ability to keep your hand and arm steady while moving your arm or while holding your arm and hand in one position.

Manual Dexterity - The ability to quickly move your hand, your hand together with your arm, or your two hands to grasp, manipulate, or assemble objects.

Multilimb Coordination - The ability to coordinate two or more limbs (or example, two arms, two legs, or one leg and one arm) while sitting, standing, or lying down. It does not involve performing the activities while the whole body is in motion.

Trunk Strength - The ability to use your abdominal and lower back muscles to support part of the body repeatedly or continuously over time without 'giving out' or fatiguing.

Speech Recognition - The ability to identify and understand the speech of another person.

Stamina - The ability to exert yourself physically over long periods of time without getting winded or out of breath.

Frequently stand and walk.

Occasionally bend, squat, crouching.

Rarely lift up to 50# with transferring and positioning clients.
