Job summary

Saybrook Point Resort & Marina in Connecticut seeks a licensed Massage Therapist to perform massages, beauty treatments, and wellness therapies, tailoring sessions to guest needs while greeting clients warmly.

You will educate guests on spa packages, up-sell services and products, maintain detailed treatment records, uphold safety and cleanliness, and assist with special events and promotions. This is a full-time on-site position requiring excellent guest service and modality knowledge.

Qualifications

  • High School diploma or GED required.
  • Licensed in Massage Therapy with current CEU credits.
  • Sound knowledge of anatomy, physiology and massage techniques.
  • Proficient in multiple modalities: Sports, Stone, Reflexology, Cranio-sacral, Lymphatic Drainage.

Responsibilities

  • Greet guests enthusiastically and create a friendly, welcoming experience.
  • Perform massage, beauty and wellness treatments following established protocols.
  • Explain services and upsell spa packages and products as appropriate.
  • Maintain detailed records of massages and treatments for each guest.
  • Maintain cleanliness and sanitation of treatment rooms and equipment.

Job Title: Massage TherapistFLSA Classification: Nonexempt (Hourly)Salary Range: Prevailing Minimum Wage/Fixed Fees/Commissions/Service ChargeSign-On Bonus: $2,500.00, after successful 60-day introductory periodReports to: Director of Spa/Spa Manager/Spa Treatment LeadJob Description:Summary/objective: The Massage Therapist position will perform massages, beauty treatments, and wellness therapies, depending on guests' needs and preferences. The positions responsibilities include greeting and welcoming spa guests, informing guests of spa packages, promotions, and rates, and customizing treatments and therapies to suit guests’ needs. You should also be able to recommend additional spa services and up-sell spa products.Essential functionsReasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform these essential functions.Greet each guest, enthusiastically and with a smile to create a friendly positive experience.To perform all massage and body work services including table and chair massage, body treatments, bath treatments, foot treatments following the established protocols, and allotted treatment times.Explaining massages, treatments, and therapies to guests and providing suitable recommendations as needed.Enquiring about guests' medical conditions and allergies before providing spa services.Communicating with guests during massages to adjust massage techniques as required.When appropriate, up sell products and servicesResolving guest complaints and reporting any accidents to the supervisor.Maintaining detailed records of massages, treatments, and therapies performed on each spa guest.To understand and respond to all guest needs and requests in a timely and professional manner.To consistently offer the highest level of personalized guest service while maintaining an enthusiastic and helpful attitude.To prescribe in written format home care products and treatment as appropriate.Adhering to appointments in a timely manner by monitoring time schedule.Maintaining product knowledge to promote and sell spa and salon services, and retail products.Cleaning and sanitizing work areas, changing treatment room sheets, and sterilizing all instruments and equipment before each use.Ensuring that the spa is adequately stocked with spa supplies and reporting shortages to the supervisor.To conserve and monitor supplies and assets of the Saybrook Point Resort & MarinaTo Arrive and set up appropriate workstations, equipment and supplies at least 15 Minutes prior to the start of the first scheduled appointment, but no more than 30 Minutes prior.To perform opening and closing checklists, replenishing supplies, cleaning equipment and re-stocking laundry.To assist in the training of other team members as directed.To assist with special projects, events and promotions as needed.To use available time to help with spa operations as requested.Report to management, immediately all inappropriate guest behavior.Understand the requirements for meeting inappropriate guest behavior such as knowing how to immediately suspend the service.
