Job Summary

At Sauna House, we believe massage is a vital pillar of the contrast therapy ritual. As a Massage Therapist, you are more than a bodyworker, you are a facilitator of deep nervous system regulation. You integrate your technical mastery of touch with Sauna House’s philosophy of Enlightened Hospitality to help guests integrate their heat and cold experience into a total state of recovery. You don't just "provide a service", you help our guests come home to their bodies.

Key Responsibilities & Expectations
Integrated Hospitality (The Connection)
  • Active Listening & Customization: You don’t deliver a "scripted" massage. You connect dots during the intake, learning about the guest's sauna/plunge experience, their physical goals, and their "emotional weather" to tailor a session that meets them exactly where they are.
  • The "Warm Handoff": You coordinate with the Guest Service Coordinators to ensure the guest’s transition from the bathhouse floor to the massage room is seamless and intentional.
  • Knowledge Advocacy: Be an expert on how massage synergizes with hot and cold therapy. You should be able to explain how your work enhances the vasodilation and lymphatic drainage started in the saunas.
Technical Excellence & Experience Care (The Stage)
  • Environment Stewardship: You are responsible for the "sanctuary" of your room. You maintain a "Day One" standard of cleanliness, sensory consistency (lighting, scent, sound), and organization.
  • Clinical Mastery: Provide high-quality, professional massage therapy that adheres to state regulations and Sauna House standards.
  • Post-Ritual Guidance: After the session, provide the guest with "Next Step" advice (hydration, rest or further contrast rounds) to ensure the benefits of your work last long after they leave the table.
Adaptability & Team Alignment
  • The "Virtuous Cycle": Participate in team huddles and feedback loops. You are a key part of the "staff engagement" metric, working collaboratively with the bathhouse team to ensure a consistent brand vibe.
  • Operational Integrity: Efficiently manage your schedule, SOAP notes, and room resets to keep the House flowing smoothly during high-volume periods.
The Ideal Candidate (The "51-Percenter")
  • Optimistic Warmth: You possess a naturally calming, kind, and supportive presence that guests can feel before you even start the treatment.
  • Professional Integrity: You hold the highest standards for draping, ethical boundaries, and guest privacy.
  • Self-Awareness: You manage your own energy and "weather report," ensuring you show up fully present for every guest, regardless of how busy the House is.
Required Skills & Qualifications
  • 1 year of desired experience
  • Active State License in Massage Therapy.
  • Proficiency in [Deep Tissue, Swedish, Sports, etc.], with an interest in learning how these interact with thermal therapy.
  • Exceptional interpersonal skills; ability to explain the "Why" behind your techniques.
  • Ability to work peak hours (evenings and weekends) when our community needs recovery most.
