Job Summary

The Massage Therapist functions under the direction of the Massage Supervisor and is responsible for providing professional and effective massage services to Health Place members and outside clients. Responsibilities include conducting chair massages during health fairs or special events and delivering presentations on massage and stress management. The role also involves developing promotional materials and marketing the massage program.

Core Responsibilities and Essential Functions

• Provide safe, effective, and relaxing massages tailored to each client.
• Perform appropriate massage techniques within scheduled times.
• Maintain proper massage etiquette and a safe environment.
• Introduce oneself professionally and explain the massage process.
• Escort clients to and from the massage room and confirm their service type.
• Offer towels and water post-massage and inquire about client needs and comfort.
• Review clients' health histories and triage accordingly.
• Allow clients time to prepare and recover.
• Address client concerns appropriately.
• Keep the massage room clean and organized.
• Arrive 15 minutes early and stay 15 minutes after appointments for setup and cleanup.
• Maintain accurate SOAP notes and updated client files.
• Participate in health fairs and department functions to promote services and increase revenue.
• Perform chair massages at off-site locations as requested.
• Market massage services proactively.
• Comply with all organizational policies and standards.

Minimum Education and Certifications

High school diploma or GED, completion of a certified Massage Therapy course (min. 500 hrs), and current certifications including Lic Massage Therapist and BLS or BLS-Instructor are required.

Experience and Skills

Minimum 1 year of experience preferred, including sports, pre-natal, or clinical massage. Strong motivation for community outreach, excellent health and wellness lifestyle, and ability to exercise independent judgment are essential.
