Qualifications

• High school graduate or equivalent.
• Graduate of an accredited Massage Therapy program.
• Licensed in Massage Therapy (LMT) by the State of Ohio.
• One year of massage services experience or an equivalent combination of education/experience.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification through the American Heart Association or American Red Cross.
• For Hospice staff only: Ohio Driver’s License upon hire; per policy 8-175 thereafter.
• For Hospice staff only: Automobile insurance coverage proof of $100,000/$300,000 upon hire; per policy 8-175 thereafter.
• Preferred: experience in the health care field.

Responsibilities

• Administer therapeutic massage and bodywork modalities, including deep tissue, Swedish, trigger point, stretching, pregnancy/post-partum massage, acupressure, reflexology and hydrotherapy.
• Interview patient to determine medical history, condition and desired results; select appropriate modality.
• Apply selected modality focusing on areas of discomfort.
• Monitor patient responses and adjust or terminate treatment based on feedback.
• Document patient information, treatments and results.
• Maintain therapy area in a clean, safe, sterile and organized state.
• Order supplies as necessary.

Education

High school diploma or equivalent

Graduate of an accredited Massage Therapy program

Licensed in Massage Therapy (LMT) by the State of Ohio

One year of massage experience or an equivalent combination of education/experience

Basic Life Support (BLS) certification through AHA or ARC

A PRN caregiver in this position works varying 8-hour shifts between 6:45AM – 5:00PM. No weekendsarerequired.

A caregiver who excels in this role will:

Minimum qualifications for the ideal future caregiver include:

• High school graduate or equivalent
• Graduate of an accreditedMassageTherapy program
• Licensed in Massage Therapy (LMT) by the State of Ohio
• One year of experience providing massage services or an equivalent combination of relevant education and/or experience
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification through the American Heart Association (AHA) or the American Red Cross
• For Hospice staff only: Valid Ohio Driver’s License upon hire; per policy 8-175 thereafter
• For Hospice staff only: Proof of automobile insurance coverage with $100,000/$300,000 upon hire; per policy 8-175 thereafter

Preferred qualifications for the ideal future caregiver include:

• Experience working in the health care field

Physical Requirements:

• Requires full body motion to move and lift patients and equipment, lifting of items in excess of 30 pounds.
• Requires standing and walking for extended times.
• Ability to assist with positioning and transporting patients; e.g., carts and wheelchairs.
• Requires the ability to maneuver equipment and motor coordination to operate equipment.

Personal Protective Equipment:

• Follows standard precautions using personal protective equipment as required.
