Overview
Under the direction of the Supervisor, Spa Services, the Massage Therapist provides relaxation, wellness and restoration to guests through spa services including massages, body treatments and general wellness care. Maintains operational excellence, product/service knowledge and safety and sanitization best practices. Ensures a clean and safe environment for all patrons, team members and vendors, while safeguarding assets and guaranteeing departmental integrity.
Essential Duties And Responsibilities
- Greets Spa guests and ensures they are comfortable during service and wait time, providing Best in Class massages and/or body treatments using multiple techniques. Upholds enterprise, industry, and department policies and procedures, ensuring professionalism and compliance at all times. Monitors and adheres to the scheduled time during shifts.
- Prepares rooms and tools for scheduled treatments prior to appointment start time. Ensures treatment rooms and areas are clean and sanitized using approved procedures. Restocks treatment products in treatment areas regularly. Removes soiled laundry and resets with clean laundry using required safety and sanitizing practices during shift.
- Communicates with guests in a professional and thoughtful manner to identify medical issues, allergies or other concerns while discussing guest wellness goals prior to service. Demonstrates genuine care for guest comfort and safety. Maintains confidentiality of personal/sensitive guest information.
- Assists with opening and closing duties for Spa Services while ensuring cleanliness, health and safety of all Spa facilities, treatment areas, and dispensary of professional Spa products.
- Collaborates with department upper management in ongoing development and positioning of Spa Treatment and Service offerings, including concept definition, philosophy, and service/product offerings. Stays current on industry standards and techniques.
- Assists with maintaining strong loyalty wellness membership program.
- Performs other duties as assigned to support the efficient operation of the department.
Education, Experience And Qualifications
- High School Diploma or GED required.
- Minimum two (2) years of Massage Therapist experience required.
Knowledge, Skills And Abilities (KSA)
- Must have the ability to communicate verbally across all levels of the enterprise.
- Must have good presentation skills.
- Must have excellent writing skills and strong computer skills covering Microsoft Office applications as well as all compliance applications.
Licenses, Certifications And Registrations
- At the discretion of the San Manuel Tribal Gaming Commission, you may be required to obtain and maintain a gaming license.
- Professional Massage Therapy license in California required.
- No Driving Responsibilities: Role does not require a driver’s license or insurance.

- Endurance to sit, walk and stand for extended periods and maintain productivity.
