Job summary

Miller Sports + Entertainment is seeking a part-time massage therapist to support Utah Royals FC athletes. The role provides massage therapy and soft tissue services under medical leadership, focusing on preventative and recovery work to maintain musculoskeletal health.

Travel with the team to away games is required. Graduate therapists with Utah licensure, LLC insurance, and 4–5 years of elite sports experience are preferred.

Qualifications

  • Graduate of Massage Therapy School.
  • Must have Utah State License in Massage Therapy.
  • Must have own LLC, liability and workers' compensation insurance.
  • Must be able to travel with the team Feb–Nov of each season.
  • 4–5 years work experience in high level sports teams preferred.
  • Able to work long hours with a flexible schedule.

Responsibilities

  • Maintain high professionalism, hygiene, and confidentiality.
  • Recognize contraindications for stretching techniques and safety protocols.
  • Deliver consistent, high-quality massage services to athletes.
  • Communicate with medical staff regarding any concerns discovered during treatment.
  • Participate in Medical Staff meetings, education, and seminars.
  • Based at the training facility in Herriman; may work at stadium in Sandy for games/practices.

Summary

The massage therapist will provide massage therapy and soft tissue services to the athletes of the Utah Royals under the direction of the Head of Medical and Head Athletic Trainer. Utilizing various learned techniques (sports massage), the massage therapist will assist in the overall health care of the athletes on Royals. Providing preventative and recovery techniques to help athletes maintain their musculoskeletal health. Communicate with medical staff any medical concerns they discover with athletes during their work. The Massage Therapist will be required to participate in Medical Staff meetings/education/seminars.

This is a part-time, hourly non-exempt role .

Responsibilities Include
  • Maintains a high standard of professionalism, hygiene, and confidentiality
  • Knowledge of safety protocols and the ability to recognize any contraindications for certain stretching technique
  • Ensure exceptional guest satisfaction by delivering consistent, high-quality massage services
  • Communicate effectively to gather feedback and address any concerns or adjustments to the treatment
  • Based at training facility in Herriman with potential to work at stadium in Sandy for games/practices as well
Minimum Qualifications
  • Graduate of Massage Therapy School
  • Must have Utah State License in Massage Therapy
  • Must have own LLC, liability and workers compensation insurance.
  • Must be able to travel with the team to away games from Feb – November of each season.
  • 4-5 years work experience (preferably with high level, elite sports teams/individuals)
  • Must be able to work long hours within a flexible schedule
  • Physical ability to perform massage therapy services without restriction
  • Must be able to pass a background check
  • Must become SafeSport Certified
  • Must be able to travel with the team.
  • Position requires the ability to stand for extensive periods of time
Physical Demands And Work Environment

The job requires regularly lifting/pushing up to 10 pounds and occasionally lifting/pushing more than 25 pounds or exerting heavy force, in a wide disparity or environmental conditions. The job involves standing, stooping, bending, lifting, pushing, typing, etc.
