Now Hiring - Massage Therapist (East Brunswick, NJ)

Hours: Per Diem

The Massage Therapist will be responsible for:

1. Demonstrating basic knowledge of the purpose, intent, and function of massage therapy for various client populations.
2. Demonstrating basic knowledge of philosophical, psychological, physiological, and sociological bases for the use of massage therapy.
3. Demonstrating basic knowledge of the use of current technologies in massage therapy assessment, treatment, and evaluation.
4. Providing massage treatments to patients when it is advantageous to the patient.
5. Reviewing patient's chart and all medical history prior to treatments.
6. Working within the massage therapy scope of practice, considering contraindications, patient limitations, and precautions.
7. Consulting with the RN Case Manager, Regional Manager, or Director of Clinical Services regarding contraindications.
8. Creating a physical environment conducive to effective therapy.
9. Documenting all patient visits according to policies in the EMR within 24 hours.
10. Communicating as an active member of the interdisciplinary team.
11. Coordinating treatment plans with the team.
12. Attending team meetings and/or IDT as requested.
13. Safeguarding patient information according to HIPAA.
14. Respecting patient's rights to refuse, modify, or terminate treatment.
15. Conducting practices with integrity and ethics.
16. Maintaining equipment and supplies hygienically.
17. Completing annual ongoing training/continuing education.
18. Participating in the hospice performance improvement program.
19. Maintaining knowledge of information systems and software.

Education: Graduate of a massage therapy program accredited by the Commission on Massage Therapy Accreditation (COMTA)

Professional Experience: 2-4 years of related experience, preferably with hospice experience and understanding of end-of-life issues.
