Job summary

Eurofins USA PSS Insourcing Solutions is seeking a mass spectrometry–based specialist to support process development and analytical testing. The role involves LC-MS sample prep, peptide mapping, and glycan characterization within a team focused on biologics programs.

The ideal candidate has 3+ years of lab experience, proficiency with Thermo/Waters/Sciex instruments, strong documentation, and the ability to work independently on multiple tasks while ensuring precise data integrity.

Qualifications

• Master's degree in biology, chemistry, or related field, or equivalent experience.
• Minimum of 3 years related laboratory experience.
• Authorization to work in the United States without sponsorship.
• Experience with LC-MS and proteomics workflows.

Responsibilities

• Support analytical testing for process development.
• Perform sample preparation for LC-MS based assays, including peptide mapping and glycan characterization.
• Operate mass spectrometers, perform calibration and data acquisition.
• Prepare buffers, set up, and clean systems.
• Document laboratory activities and enter data into the database.
• Troubleshoot equipment and perform minor repairs.
• Maintain safe lab practices and a clean, safe work area.

Job Description

Employee Responsibilities:

• Support the analytical testing for process development
• Perform sample preparation for LC-MS based assays including peptide mapping, intact mass, glycan characterization, host cell protein analysis or quantitation by MRM, PS80 characterization, in support of biologics programs
• Operate mass spectrometers, perform calibration, system suitability and data acquisition
• Prepare buffers, setting up, sample preparation, and cleaning of systems
• Document laboratory activities electronically and enter data into database.
• Troubleshoot equipment and perform minor repairs
• Be responsible for following safe laboratory practices and for maintaining the work area in a clean orderly and safe manner

Qualifications

Basic Minimum Qualifications:

• Master's degree in biology, chemistry, or other related degree concentration, or equivalent directly-related experience
• Minimum of 3 years related laboratory experience
• Authorization to work in the United States indefinitely without restriction or sponsorship

The Ideal Candidate would possess:

• Experience conducting mass spectrometry and proteomics experiments, including sample preparation and optimization, mass spectrometer operation and maintenance
• Experience with Thermo, Waters, and Sciex mass spectrometers
• Strong computer, scientific, and organizational skills
• Excellent communication (oral and written) and attention to detail
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team, self-motivation, adaptability, and a positive attitude
• Ability to learn new techniques, perform multiple tasks simultaneously, keep accurate records, follow instructions, and comply with company policies
• Experience with execution of LC-MS
• Excellent oral and written communication skills
• Strong attention to detail, hands‑on capability, ability to learn quickly and be a self‑starter
• Ability to work independently as well as be a strong team player to meet program needs
• Self‑motivation, adaptability and a positive attitude
• The candidate must have effective documentation skills with the ability to author internal technical reports
• Experience with Microsoft Word and Excel is required
