Job summary

SPACE EXPLORATION TECHNOLOGIES CORP seeks a Mechanical Design Engineer for their Bastrop, TX facility, responsible for managing the design and production of consumer hardware for Starlink. Ideal candidates will have a Bachelor's degree in engineering, CAD/FEA experience, and at least one year of professional mechanical design experience. A Master's degree and leadership experience in mechanical projects are preferred. The role requires strong problem-solving skills and effective communication within multidisciplinary teams.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in an engineering discipline.
• Experience with CAD and FEA software packages.
• 1+ years of professional experience with mechanical/electromechanical design, analysis, testing, and/or manufacturing.

Responsibilities

• Own Starlink consumer hardware from conceptual design through production.
• Develop design criteria and optimize systems.
• Test and iterate on products to ensure high reliability.
