Job summary

Miles McClellan Construction in Hilliard, OH is seeking a Masonry Superintendent to oversee commercial masonry operations from start to finish, leading field crews and coordinating manpower, materials, and equipment. You will review plans, collaborate with project teams, monitor progress, and ensure safety, quality, and on-schedule delivery on each project.

The role requires 5+ years in masonry construction with leadership experience, strong reading of drawings, and proficiency in construction

Qualifications

  • 5+ years of masonry construction experience with leadership or supervisory responsibilities.
  • Experience managing commercial masonry projects, crews, and field operations.
  • Strong knowledge of masonry materials, installation methods, equipment, and safety practices.
  • Ability to read and interpret construction drawings, specifications, and schedules.
  • Proven ability to manage manpower, productivity, labor budgets, and project schedules.
  • Strong communication, leadership, problem-solving, and organizational skills.
  • OSHA 30 certification preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Lead and supervise masonry field operations, including Foremen, Masons, Mason Tenders, Operators, and subcontractors.
  • Coordinate manpower, materials, equipment, and daily work activities to support project schedules and productivity goals.
  • Review project plans, specifications, schedules, and construction documents to ensure proper execution of work.
  • Collaborate with Project Managers, owners, architects, engineers, and other trades to support successful project delivery.
  • Monitor project progress and address field issues, conflicts, and construction challenges.
  • Ensure compliance with safety policies, OSHA requirements, and jobsite safety programs.
  • Conduct site visits, crew meetings, safety discussions, and progress reviews.
  • Support workforce development through training, mentoring, and performance management of field personnel.
  • Monitor labor budgets, equipment utilization, productivity, quality control, and schedule performance.
  • Participate in preconstruction meetings, constructability reviews, and project planning activities.
  • Maintain accurate project documentation, including daily reports, schedules, safety records, and field communication.
  • Serve as a technical resource and leader for masonry construction methods, materials, and best practices.

Overview

The Masonry Superintendent is responsible for overseeing masonry operations on commercial construction projects from start to finish.
