Job summary

Currin Outdoor Living LLC is seeking a skilled Mason with 10+ years in masonry and tile to build features on high-end outdoor living projects in the Triangle area. You will handle retaining walls, outdoor kitchens, fireplaces, fire pits, veneer work, coping, and pool/patio tile installations.

Must read plans, work precisely, and lift up to 50 lbs; valid driver’s license and reliable transport required. Expect year-round work with competitive pay based on experience and craftsmanship.

• Strong knowledge of mortar mixing, footings, and proper wall/structure construction techniques.

• Able to read and execute plans with precise layout and level work.
• Experience building retaining walls, outdoor kitchens, fireplaces, and fire pits.

We're looking for a skilled Mason with 10+ years in the trade to build masonry and tile features on our pool and outdoor living projects — retaining walls, outdoor kitchens, fireplaces, fire pits, veneer work, coping, and pool/patio tile installation.

What you bring:

• 10+ years of masonry and tile experience — block, brick, natural stone, veneer, and tile setting
• Strong knowledge of mortar mixing, footings, and proper wall/structure construction techniques
• Skilled in tile layout, cutting, setting, and grouting for pool coping, waterlines, and patios
• Ability to read and execute plans with precise layout and level work
• Experience building retaining walls, outdoor kitchens, and fireplace/fire pit structures
• Skilled with masonry and tile tools — wet saws, grinders, trowels, levels, notched trowels
• Eye for clean lines, tight joints, and finish quality that holds up over time
• Valid driver's license; reliable transportation
• Ability to work outdoors in all conditions and lift 50+ lbs regularly

Physical Demands

The position requires various physical activities, including prolonged standing, walking, stooping, crawling, kneeling, crouching, climbing, balancing, reaching, grasping, lifting, carrying, pushing, pulling, bending, twisting, and handling. Other requirements include talking, hearing, depth perception, manual dexterity, and a wide field of vision. Candidates must be able to frequently lift up to 50 pounds and occasionally lift up to 80 pounds.

Work Environment

The physical demands of this position include being exposed to various outdoor conditions, including extreme heat, cold, and humidity. You will encounter fluctuating weather patterns and work in both wet and dry environments. This role also involves frequent exposure to high noise levels from equipment and machinery, as well as vibrations from the use of power tools.

Additional environmental exposures include:

• Proximity to moving mechanical parts, such as lawn mowers, trimmers, and other landscaping equipment.
• Potential exposure to electrical hazards, particularly when working near or with electrical systems (e.g., lighting or irrigation systems).
• Atmospheric conditions, such as dust, pollen, and fumes from machinery, fertilizers, or chemicals, requiring proper safety measures.
• Risk of electrical shock when using certain power tools or working around electrical systems.
• Working on or near wet, slippery surfaces, or uneven terrain, which may increase the risk of slips and falls.
• Bee stings and other bug bites

Travel

This position is required to travel to job sites in the Triangle area.
