Mariani Enterprises LLC is seeking a Masonry Crew Member/Leader to build walls, walkways and patios at various sites around lower Fairfield/New Haven/Westchester County. The role requires bricklaying expertise, blueprints literacy, and reliable physical capability for heavy lifting and outdoor work.

You will join a team focused on quality construction, safety, and on-time project completion, with opportunities for training and career growth in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required; technical masonry training preferred.
• Three years of related experience in bricklaying and concrete work.
• Valid driver's license and reliable transportation.
• Ability to read blueprints and interpret project specs.

Responsibilities

• Builds retaining walls, pools, walkways, patios using brick, stone, or concrete blocks.
• Cuts bricks and mixes mortar to lay bricks on mortar bed.
• Measures brickwork to ensure structure is built correctly.
• Consults with project manager/foreman or client to determine finish and plans.
• Monitors drying and curing of concrete and weather impact on the project.

Many positions (30 hours/week or more) are eligible for additional benefits including medical, dental, vision, disability insurances and other offerings.* Lots of training and development opportunities to move your career forward* Friendly and supportive team environment* Work with state-of-the-art technology and equipmentThe **Masonry Crew Member and Leader** will assist to:• Builds retaining walls, pools, walkways, patios, and other structures using bricks, stone, an/or concrete blocks, • Cuts or saws bricks for projects as necessary • Ability to mix mortar and grout to be used to lay brick and places brick or concrete blocks on mortar bed • Measures and examine brickwork to ensure structure is built correctly • Consults with the project manager/foreman or client to determine the shape, consistency, finish, and other specifications of the project and plans accordingly • Plans project and drying time to ensure that concrete will dry and cure correctly; monitors weather and wind throughout the process to ensure proper curing • Builds and uses forms to shape concrete to specified levels and consistencies • Uses a variety of tools, such as straight-edges, floats, rakes, shovels, trowels, and brooms, to spread, level, smooth, and finish concrete and surface • Waterproofs or restores surface by applying hardening and sealing compounds • Levels and evens surface as needed by chipping, scraping, and grinding uneven spots or ridges using power or hand tools • Repairs and reinforces existing concrete surfaces, which may include removing ridges and cavities, resurfacing, or cleaning • Cleans surface, tools, and surrounding area thoroughly • Performs other related duties as assigned**COMPETENCIES** • Demonstrates extensive knowledge of bricklaying techniques and procedures • Ability to read and interpret blueprints • Possesses a thorough understanding of math and geometry • Demonstrates excellent verbal communication skills • Possesses a thorough understanding of the characteristics of concrete and ability to make plans based on that knowledge. • Ability to create, lay, and use concrete forms • Demonstrates a deep understanding of and ability to use tools related to masonry. • Ability to work well with others • Ability to create a variety of surfaces for various purposes • Ability to reliably commute to and from the office on a daily basis • Possesses a valid/active driver’s license**EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE** • High school diploma or equivalent required • Technical/vocational school program preferred • Three years of related experience required**PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS** • Prolonged periods standing, stooping, bending, kneeling, and squatting • Must be able to lift up to 100 pounds at a time • Physically able to perform labor required to lay bricks and concrete blocks • Must be able to work in extremely noisy areas • Excellent hand-eye coordination • Must be able to work in all types of weather**The Perks*** 401(k) plan with company match* Medical insurance* Dental insurance* Vision insurance* FSA/HSA* PerkSpot* Long-Term Disability and Life Insurance* Paid time Off* Tuition Reimbursement (after one year of service)**Pay Transparency**Mariani Enterprises LLC is committed to pay transparency and equity among all employees and provides employees with an environment where pay transparency and dialogue on compensation are allowed.
