Supervisory Responsibilities:

None.

Duties/Responsibilities:

  • Learn the characters of Dinger and Stomper to support their appearance schedule at home games and community events.
  • Perform at a designated number of community appearances including parades, school visits, hospital visits, charitable events and other events coordinated by the Athletics and Sacramento River Cats.
  • Be responsible and accountable to appearance schedules; arriving on time and remaining for the duration of games, events, and public appearances.
  • Provide creative assistance to Mascot Coordinator in the areas of presentation, skits, and appearances.
  • Distribute promotional giveaways at events, game days and other activations.
  • Assist in maintaining the condition of costumes and props.
  • Other duties as assigned by Mascot Coordinator.

Required Skills/Abilities

  • Must have experience performing. Experience in any of the following will be considered: mascot/costumed character/cheer/dance/game entertainment/improv/theater/comedy/emcee.
  • Must have ability to be trained, coached, and critiqued to perform “in character”.
  • Be creative and understand non-verbal acting and communication.
  • Possess working knowledge of the game of baseball.
  • Must be available to work flexible hours including most home games, nights, and weekends.
  • Must have reliable transportation as well as a valid driver’s license.
  • Excellent skills in interacting with others.
  • Must be a great dancer.

Education and Experience:

  • On-the-job training provided.
  • Must have valid driver’s license.

Physical Requirements:

  • Height between the range of 5’ 7” and 6’ 2”.
  • Prolonged periods of standing, walking, stretching, bending, climbing ladders, kneeling, pulling, and dancing.
  • Must be able to lift up to 15 pounds at a time.
  • Must be able to work in all types of weather conditions in the costume.

Compensation:

This position is a part-time role with a base rate of $16.50 per hour. Final offers for this role will be made within the parameters of the salary range provided. In addition to compensation, employees can enjoy the following perks:
