Job summary

RedBull New York is seeking a lively Mascot Handler to support the REDD brand at events and matches in the Tri-State area. You will engage fans of all ages with your energetic presence and help bring REDD’s antics to life during appearances and on game days.

Ideal candidates have prior mascot experience, an outgoing personality, and flexibility to work regular season and playoff events, including evenings and weekends. Travel commitments may be required.

Qualifications

• Prior professional mascot or mascot handler experience is strongly preferred.
• Outgoing personality with a passion for entertainment within sports and comedy.
• Flexibility to work regular season & playoff match days, evenings, and weekends.
• Travel 50-60%.

Responsibilities

• Serve as a Mascot Handler for appearances (internal and external) as well as match days.
• Availability to work regular season and playoff games, as well as mascot appearances.
• Adapt to different environments to provide the best game experience for fans.
• Maintain and create mascot props, costumes, and skit items as needed.
• Assist REDD in ideation sessions throughout the season (in-game skits, social media content, and external requests).
• Assist in gameday preparation including rolling t-shirts, organizing seat and suite visits, handing out prizes to fans, and going over the game schedule ahead of time.
• Strong communication over headset with all game presentation staff during the games.
• Other fast-paced game day duties as assigned.
• Ability to engage fans of all ages with proper customer support, and assist in making their time at the games special and memorable.
• The mascot handler hours are contingent upon incoming requests.

RedBull New York (“RBNY”) are one of 30 teams in Major League Soccer (MLS) and one of the league’s ten original charter clubs. Founded in 1996, RBNY has competed in MLS since its inception. Position Summary

The Mascot Handler will support REDD as a pivotal addition to the RedBull New York organization and fan base representing the brand at events and matches. You are someone who exemplifies our core values through your actions and will be responsible for engaging audiences of all ages with your lively personality and assist REDD with his antics and duties.

RESPONSIBILITIES

All the responsibilities we’ll trust you with:

• Serve as a Mascot Handler for appearances (internal and external) as well as match days.
• Availability to work regular season and playoff games, as well as mascot appearances.
• Ability to adapt to different environments to provide the best game experience for fans.
• Ability to problem solve quickly in a live sports setting to ensure that scripted events hit properly, and that the performer and fan safety is maintained.
• Maintain and create mascot props, costumes, and skit items as needed.
• Assist REDD in ideation sessions throughout the season (in-game skits, social media content, and external requests) when needed.
• Assist in gameday preparation including rolling t-shirts, organizing seat and suite visits, handing out prizes to fans, and going over the game schedule ahead of time.
• Strong communication over headset with all game presentation staff during the games.

EXPERIENCE

Your areas of knowledge and expertise that matter most for this role:

• Prior professional mascot or mascot handler experience is strongly preferred.

• Flexibility to work regular season & playoff match days, evenings, and weekends. Office hours will be subject to the needs of the mascot program.
• Dependable transportation to and from matches and appearances in the Tri-State area.
• Knowledge of MLS, general soccer knowledge, and culture of our supporters and fans.
